Owner description: "Visiting Vietnam without listening to a rhythm of ca tru traditional music means that you've not discovered the real spirit of Vietnam yet." "Free yourself and get immersed in ca tru while enjoying performance by Thang Long Ca Tru Theatre. It is a voluntary, non-profit group of ca tru musicians founded in 2006. Long-time history, unique instruments, impressive music tones and meaningful song lyrics made ca tru recognized by UNESCO as the World Intangible Cutural Heritage." "This is a concert for about 70 persons held in an old temple in the old quarter of Hanoi. They are good about explaining the instruments and the history of the music. They even let you come try out the instruments. The hot tea and little cake is a nice touch at intermission" "The singers had such dear, expressive faces and sang with such intensity. The instruments were unique and had a real otherworldly quality to them and the presentation and overall performance were of a very high quality. I felt delighted, entertained and educated. Well worth going to see."-Visited wrote The show is on every Thursday and Saturday night at 8pm at 28 Hang Buom (Quan De Temple).

“Water puppet show”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Besides my son blocking his ears when the women sang and getting restless after 15 mins it was entertaining as far as puppet shows go, especially as it was in water.

“very interesting for the little one”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

this show is something new to us. for the first 20mins, it can be very entertaining because it is foreign. however, the next 25mins, it is more or less the same repeated puppets with different singing and moves. we dozed off somewhere there... but the little one was entertained throughout!

“Vietnamese opera”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

The puppeteers were very skilful and the musicians played their music very well. However, I couldn't understand Vietnamese so it was difficult for me to figure out the meaning.

“Traditional music on old street”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

On the old, noisy and smell of grilled beef, we can sit inside very old house, enjoy 1000 years ago traditional music. I tried to use the musical instrument... difficult but interesting. The staffs here are so nice. I also tasted cake and tea free.
