Do not let the amateur nature of this tours fool you: the "kids" as well as the other coordinators are all extremely professional. We arranged a half day tour of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Temple of Literature, they responded my emails quickly and with extreme precision, two young women picked us up at the agreed time and took us around, giving us information both on the monuments and on life in Vietnam. Then we concluded a very pleasant morning with a coffee. An extremely positive experience.

We had a few extra days in Hanoi and decided at the last minute to use Hanoikids. With less than 24 hours notice, Hanoikids replied to our web enquiry and paired us up with Lien and Bach for a half day tour. Lien was an excellent guide with a wealth of information about the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison and Long Bien bridge. It was Bach's first day and we all had a good laugh at his first-day gaffs and quirky sense on humour. Later that evening, Lien introduced us to a wonderful local restaurant with the best seafood dinner we had in Vietnam! Lien & Bach were excellent ambassadors of the city, with an infectious and youthful enthusiasm that made the day a joy.
Hanoikids is a volunteer organization staffed by college kids intent on developing their English skills and promote their Vietnamese city and culture.

I got 2 little companies on my 1st day in Hanoi. They were smart, kind, informative, helpful, and we had personal bound. They brought us to local places to taste good food, good dessert, and unique egg coffee as the local has daily. We shared about the culture and the daily life of Vietnamese. It was priceless to know HanoiKids! I really proud of HanoiKids that boosts the tourism of Hanoi!

We toured with HanoiKids - visiting the Temple of Literature and the Hoa Lo Prison with a stop for lunch and an authentic Hanoi egg coffee.

We had two guides, a young man and a young lady - both college students. They were very professional and knowledgeable. The experience was frankly amazing. I have toured with seasoned pros in other countries, and these young people were as composed and knowledgeable as any. They were enthusiastic about showing visitors their country - and were helpful and fun.

Now for the really surprising thing - they are free. You pay only for your (and their) expenses - admission, transport and lunch.

There is no better deal anywhere - I wish we had time to do more attractions with them - and when we return to Hanoi we will book again.

HanoiKids is definitely a terrific opportunity to see Hanoi!

We had a fantastic time with our two young tour guides. Their english was excellent and their knowledge even better!! It was definately the best tour we had throughout Vietnam, we learnt about the city, their culture and the people. And it was free!!!! They gave us advice on where to go for dinner and they took us to some great street food and the yummiest coffee shop.
