“A great experience”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

I booked this hotel at the last minute as I didn’t have time to research on it I was concerned what it would be like. However, it was out of my expectations, the room was clean & neat, the staffs members are very helpful and friendly. Customers are able to conveniently book a taxi to receive you from the airport; this is very convenient for a lot of people. When I arrived I took the first taxi I could find taxi and was charged $25, however, on the journey back to the airport I only had to pay $18 on the way back as the hotel booked for me. I bought a tour to Ha Long & Sapa also with the good price. Good location, 1 minute to market night, 10 minutes to Hoan Kiem Lake, 5 minute to Dong Xuan market. Recommended this hotel to everyone.

I recently stayed that this hotel and have to say that it was a diamond in the rough of Hanoi. I have been to Hanoi twice and had various issues, so to have such friendly and nice staff compared to what i was experiencing out on the street it was really great.

Reception team was great, the tour organizer sitting at the desk at the lobby was very nice, and the girls in the breakfast lounge were extremely pleasant i have to say. Cannot fault them.... its this type of genuine care which is really great.

We upgraded to rooms that looked out into the very busy street and these were spacious and the bath tub / shower thing is like stepping into a space ship! The toilet was a little cramped however and the noise got loud from the street of course. On the day we were leaving, there was a funeral down the street.... the music was blaring from just after 6am.

My problem was trying to pay by credit card. There was an extra 3% 'bank charge' applied. I have lived in Vietnam for over 2 years and i know this is a common practice of small businesses to cover costs, but its really not acceptable. The actual charge from the bank may not be exactly 3%, but thats the cost of doing business in my opinion. The other reason its common practice for small business to do this is so that you pay cash, therefore not running the money you pay 'through the books' so it goes to the owners pocket. This was compounded by the fact that i could not get Hong Kong dollars exchanged ANYWHERE in town.... i went to 4 banks an money changers and they did not accept it.... so how can i pay with cash if there is no where to exchange money?

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street have much more light and was only an extra $10

If you are looking for a hotel in an exciting shopping area near downtown Hanoi, you will like this hotel. If you're looking for a large modern comfortable room with all the amenities, this is the hotel for you. Finally ,if you're looking for hotel staff who are both friendly and very anxious to be helpful, stay here. The beautiful lobby is your first indication of a hotel that has taken pains to ensure a wonderful stay. Traffic noise was minimal, breakfast was delicious, and prices are very reasonable. This is a very high three-star hotel.

Finally, A special mention of Mihn, at their travel desk-- he was so pleasant and gave us great advice on our Vietnam stay.

very nice city view room, modern .jacuzzi large windows. very friendly and helpful staff.
the only problem was that there was one wasp in our room which after calling reception for assistance was killed by the bellboy.
the bed was a bit hard or me.
the hotel is right in the middle o the old quarter so you get to witness real authentic hanoi.
taxi to airport between 10-15 usd depending where you get it from/ which travel agency/
halong bay day trips between 18 usd and 90 usd so shop around.
taxi to the mausoleum 50000 vdg
taxi to LE Mat -on the way there 180000 vdg with mailinh taxi but i guess the taxi driver took us a long way around because we paid 80000vdg on the way back with another taxi company.
if you want to try dogs meat ask at the reception
