“Not first choice”
Reviewed 24 July 2012

The hotel was clean and neat, the room size was ok as was the bathroom. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Free wireless is provided and the rooms come with a working air conditioner. The breakfast was pretty standard Vietnam fair, enough but rather bland and pretty much the same every day.

The hotel is however not located in the best spot for a tourist as staying in the old french quarter, or around the lake area, are much nicer. There are some restaurants around the corner, including one very nice Pho. Not much else in terms of amenities were close by. The taxi from the airport could not find this hotel and just dropped me in the vicinity.

As in most hotels in Vietnam do not change money due to a very poor exchange rate offered by the hotel.

This hotel seems to be frequented by the locals and they are very noisy, woke me up every night and again by 05:30 in the morning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the road.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is good with a large supermarket just down the street. Rooms are good, hot water cuts in and out which can make for an interesting shower.

We stayed here for 5 nights in dec/jan. The staff were really helpful and the rooms were clean, however there was only hot water 2 days out of 5 and it was quite cold when we were there so this was a big downer.

Rooms are fine for the rent they are charging. Breakfast is ok. You need to walk couple of stairs before you reach reception and that can be a problem to physically challenged and older people. Bed were not very comfortable. Service is excellent. There was a problem and they sent someone to fix immediately.

Stayed here as part of an Intrepid Scenic Vietnam tour. On upper level floor with a front room, plenty of light and view of the interesting buildingscape of Hanoi, good lift, friendly and informative reception staff, used their safe deposit system at the front desk with no problems at all. Clean room and bedding, cold fridge stocked with some cold drinks including beer, reasonable prices, bathroom clean but old, so don't expect too many stars, supplied toiletries, travel toothbrush sets etc. Aircon was good. Just around the corner from the excellent KOTO restaurant, also a freetrade shop just a bit further up from KOTO, also a local park down the road interesting to visit and walk a few laps with the locals in the early morning :) just down the road from the Temple of Literature. 10-15 minute walk to the main lake in central Hanoi if you don't get lost, reception can give you a map. Would stay here again for the price.

Room Tip: Get higher level floor to escape street noise in Hanoi.

This hotel was clean and comfortable. However, only one of the front desk staff members speaks English and is able to help you. The internet is VERY unreliable, which was a problem for me since I was there working. One of the biggest problems with this place is that there are no safes to keep valuables locked up during the day. I had my iPod stolen and my colleague had a ring stolen from her room on the same day. When we complained to the front desk, they shrugged it off and told us nothing could be done about it. I would probably not stay here again.

Great value for money in ha noi. 2 minutes from koto restaurant, another 20 meters turn right and 10 metres on the left is a magnificent tea house. Lots to explore, close to the lake and ho chi Minh gardens. Wanted to extend but was booked up.
