“a lovely hotel & central”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

We were so happy when we found this hotel in hanoi. The 1st hotel we stayed in was awful so when we found this we were over the moon. The rooms are lush, comfortable beds, pretty spacious rooms, proper shower cubicles with hot water....Oh and a computer in the room and free WiFi... decent tv with a good choice of English channels.... breakfast isn't really my thing but the pancakes were really good. The staff are friendly and attentive... the hotel is in a quieter part of the old quarter so no real problems with noise (although another guest said his room was noisy early morning) our room was at the back and it was really quiet so if anything try and get a room at the back... would definitely stay here again ands it's only a few minutes walk to all the pubs & restaurants...

Room Tip: Try and get a Room at the back of hotel..... as Vietnamese are early risers

Great location (old quarter), great price ($19 includes breakfast), staff very helpful and friendly. We also booked our tours/transfers from here , very happy with what was arranged. Would highly recommend.

Located in the heart of the old city, the Symphony is like a home away from home. The manager is a wealth of information. The staff are charming and helpful, and the hotel is modern, clean and comfortable.
Our intended 2 day stay here got extended and extended, and I couldn't think of anywhere better in Hanoi to stay.
I've never given a 5 dot rating before, but I would give these guys 6 for value for money if I could.
Don't look elsewhere,. You won't find better

We made the Symphony Hotel our base from 12-28Feb14 because of the quality, security, economy, and the flexibility of service. The rooms are well decorated and extremely quiet, comfortable and completely serviced each day. Although it is a small boutique hotel, reception is manned 24/7 and a swift new lift services all floors.
Mr Cuong and his staff speak excellent English and are always friendly, courteous and exceptionally helpful. 1-4day trips away were seamlessly facilitated and spiced with luggage storage, room upgrades, airport transfers and flexible check-ins/outs & breakfasts.
When we returned from Laos late at night, Mr Cuong had arranged for us to be greeted at the airport and chaffeured home as a complimentary gesture.
No fuss was made about bills, all charges were itemised, scrupulously checked with us and settled with a single credit card payment upon checkout. This hotel exceeds all expectations.

We arrived at the hotel before 10 am and we were given the rooms to check in. Staffs are extremely friendly and help with everything we needed. Hotel is within walking distance to all the attraction. Tour booked through hotel is excellent. We booked four nights but changed our plan to stay one night at Halong Bay. We were not charged for the night cancelled. The hotel was worth every penny.

We stayed here 4 days over a week, going on tours the rest of the week. The rooms are clean and spacious, with good facilities: ample bathroom, computer, WiFi, fridge, safe. The manager, Mr Cuong Nguyen is friendly and very helpful, as are his delightful staff. No problem in leaving our main luggage with them whilst we did our tours.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors have less noise. We slept well, and did not mind the 'town crier' at...

Symphony Hotel is a brilliant place to stay, and one of the best hotels we've come across whilst travelling around SE Asia over the past 3 months.

We were originally at a different hotel but left one morning after staff changed the price. We'd read good reviews of Symphony Hotel online and the owner was very accommodating when we turned up at 10am asking for a room, allowing us to check in straight away.

The hotel was small and homely, and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable, with a big bed and plenty of space. The bathroom was equally as good. One of our favourite things about the room was the computer with very fast internet, which was a bit of a god-send after travelling without one for a few months, and extremely useful for booking our trip ahead. The included breakfast was also very nice each morning, with lots of toast!

The owner and his staff at the hotel really value their customers, and were very helpful and kind from the moment we arrived. He recommended and booked us a great cruise around Ha Long bay (without ever being pushy), including getting us a really good room on the boat at a discounted price - subsequently the cruise was excellent, and we ate like royalty! Also on the day we left the hotel the owner offered to let us keep our room until mid-afternoon, and even threw in a free taxi to the airport. The service here was outstanding!

The staff here really made our stay in Hanoi - they were all very genuine and wanted to make our stay as easy as possible, without being over top... we couldn't say this for many of the places we've stayed recently! All this coupled with the lovely rooms makes Symphony Hotel an ideal place to stay whilst in the city, and I'd very strongly recommend it to anyone staying in Hanoi.
