I've already reviewed this hotel, but have more experience to add to what I already thought was great...

When we left Rising Dragon 3 in taxi to train station, we were escorted by the bell boy. He came with us in the taxi and upon arriving at train station, he directed us to the right cabin. When we got to our ticketed cabin number, we found there were already 3 french people bunked down in our beds. They were certain we were in the wrong cabin and refused to move, but our bellboy found a train official while we waited. He returned to find that we were in the right place, but the other peoples' guide had taken them to the wrong cabin. Without his kind assistance, we could have ended up in all sorts of trouble. We are very grateful for his help.
And to top it all off, we arrived back in Hanoi at 5.30am today and thought we'd try our luck at getting a room for the day to rest before we fly to Da Nang. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and asked how our trip to Sapa was. They also offered us a very comfortable room for the day, with shower, internet and breakfast for free! When does that ever happen? I'm totally blown away with service and kindness of staff here at Rising Dragon 3. HIGHLY recommended for first time visitors to Hanoi

Room Tip: Be friendly.

After a long day of being a tourist, I looked forward to going back to the hotel and putting my feet up. The rooms here are spacious and very reasonable. The staff is wonderful and willing to help with whatever you need and the manager, Mr. Sun is amazing! He is always there and he genuinely wants you to be comfortable and happy. There was a day I was not feeling well and my friend had mentioned it to him and when he saw me, he asked if I would like some tea. It made me feel better. The level of service is excellent. They treat you like family and it feels like home even down to when you leave, they all stand outside and wave goodbye. You get the sense that you will see them at your next holiday.

Nice hotel in the centre of Hanoi. Manager and staff are super friendly and cooperative. They do everything to make you stay a success. Rooms are big, clean and have everything you need. Free laptop with free internet in every room. Breakfast is nice. We stayed here a few days and enjoyed the hotel and the friendliness of the staff every minute.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 2 night upon our arrival in Vietnam. We had booked in advance and arranged for an airport pick-up (would recommend doing this). We were greeted by the enthusiastic manager (Mr. Son) who was very helpful during our stay. The room was lovely with separate living and sleeping areas. There was complimentary water, fruit and a bottle of wine. Most welcome! The bed was comfy and there was a proper balcony to sit out on.

The location of the hotel is very good. You can stroll to the old town in less than 15 mins, so everything is near at hand without being right on your doorstep.

Value-wise I'm sure we could have got a better rate by arriving straight in and not booking in advance, but is was handy for us to have our first nights sorted so it was worth the extra few quid.

The staff were very helpful and booked trips and flights for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a balcony at the front of the building, good views to be had.

Be prepared to be a little shocked by the street RD III is on. We were scammed by a taxi and dropped at the end of the street on a very hot afternoon and thought we must be in wrong street. The hotel is on the edge of the Old Quarter but only 10 minutes walk from most attractions. Rd III quickly became a haven from the madness of Hanoi traffic and after only two nights extended our stay to cover 3 nights after return from Halong Bay.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the tiny dining area was simple but OK. Overall for the modest tariff RD III was an excellent choice.

Room Tip: Front rooms have a small balcony and view over street.
