It was a nice room we stayed there twice. In the beginng of our trip and on the end. The people are very friendly and helpfull.
The hotel is in the middle of the old centre and everything is in walking distance.
The rooms are okay, quite big and we had a balcony.

We would really come back here.

$16USD per night for a private room
WiFi didnt work in the room and there was no attempt to address this problem. Breakfast was included but was bought off the street. Overall the room was fine, but if you shop around its possible to get similar benefits for less cash.

We stayed at the Moonshine Palace Hotel for 2 nights and throughout out travels through Asia, this is the worst place we've stayed yet.

The room was covered in mold on one corner near the balcony, the bed sheets had cigaret burn holes in it, our air conditioning unit was so old it worked only as well as a fan and it took hours for the room to cool slightly.
And our bathroom had fresh mouse droppings in it twice during our stay!

We tried to complain and ask to move to another room but they suddenly lost their ability to understand English (even though we had had several conversations with them on arrival) so we gave up and went back to our hole of a room.
Breakfast each morning was hit and miss - they only had half the dishes on the menu nd the condiments were disgusting - the squeezy tubes they were in were surrounded by years of scum and dried sauce and stank to high heaven and the salt and pepper shakers were sealed shut with dirt in the holes too. Nice!

Do not stay here, god knows how it has gotten so many good reviews on here, it is terrible!

The only plus was that we booked it through Agoda.com and this made it impossible for the hotel staff to rip us off with an inflated price on arrival. We paid $12.50 per night including breakfast.

It was a short stay in Hanoi with our 3 year old before going further to the South, so we just picked up a basic 2 star hotel and paid a good "Deluxe room with balcony"-price. On our arrival the staff was very friendly and we were feeling welcomed. That was the only really positive thing in here. The room we got first was not at all the one we booked - it happened to be a Family room with tiny window to nowhere and on the 3rd floor with very steep stairs (who on earth choose such a location for a Family room??). However, after some talking with the hotel manager and complimentary tea & coffee, we got our desired so-called Deluxe - quite small, fungus on the walls, dark spots on the blanket, everything felt quite unclean. Balcony facing the street was a relief - although quite dirty, no furniture and making the room noisy. There is no restaurant in the hotel - just a few tables next to the reception where you can eat breakfast. Breakfast was basic - one choice per person from the list, cooked right here in a kitchen corner (soup pho ga brought from some street cafe). Overall the hotel itself and the rooms didn't look even close to the pictures on the hotel's web page - be aware when making your bookings. If we happen to come to Hanoi again - definitely will try something else.

My husband and l spent seven nights here and felt very safe and welcome. We arrived at the hotel early 1030 am and were able to have our room after a short wait, offered complimentary drinks while waiting, and no extra charge for early admission, which was great. The staff were very obliging in anything that was needed, even went out especially to get special bagettes for breakfast which was very much appreciated at no extra cost.Full breakfast available and cooked freshly for you.A few language barriers but that added to the fun!! Our room was clean ,very comfortable bed, and great airconditioner,we had a balcony room which was noisy ,but great for street watching!! quieter rooms at rear of the hotel .Tours were a little expensive, but good, the hotel is family run and extremely friendly. Thankyou for a lovely stay

In general we had a great stay here in Moonshine palace. The staff was very kind. The tours they offered where really good value for money. The room itself was really big, nice furniture, comfortible bed. The only thing not so fine was the bathroom at our first stay, it was not clean enough for us. At our 2nd stay we had another room, there the bathroom was ok. I do not remember the room number, but just have a look at the room.... and you´ll be fine.
Breakfast was also very fine. You can choose, they offer different food/drinks you can choose from.

Room Tip: Take a look at bathroom before you accept the room
