“Great hotel in the Old quarter”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

This is a great hotel in the Old Quarter! We stayed at the Vega Hotel during 4 nights in October 2011 and booked one of the balcony rooms. These rooms have a large terrace with view over various busy streets. Rooms are provided with everything you need and the beds are comfortable.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served with fresh bread evey day and the omelets taste very good. Mr Viet is the manager and was also helpful in booking a private tour for us through the north of Vietnam (9 days) as Vega Hotel is connected to Vega Travel. This tour was the best tour we ever experienced with an excellent tour guide (Mr Dang) and driver (Mr Noi). If you ever book a tour you must ask for them as they will do everything to make your tour a big success!! I am sure that Mr Viet can make the arrangements for you.
We will definitely visit this hotel again and recommend it to everyone else.

Our first hotel experience in Vietnam was simply amazing! Rooms are clean and staff are really friendly ,they always get out of their ways to help or giving you tips and informations. The hotel has a good location in the old quarters. Heaps of yummy restaurants within walking distance. The most important, their Tours: It's a really good value for money and no big groups. We really enjoyed our stay and we absolutely recommend it.

We stayed for 3 nights in Hanoi and had no intention to move to another hotel. The location is great, in Old Quarter, near to weekend night bazzar and Hoan Kiem lake, just within walking distance. And it is easy to find food. There are plenty of food stall and small restaurants nearby. There is also an upmarket shopping mall just accross the street. We also booked our Halong Bay and Perfume Pagoda tours from the hotel, which turn out to have same name with the hotel, Vega travel - which is also has good name for itself in Lonely Planet. The staff are very helpful and friendly (including our tour guide), we just tell them what we need and we got it immediately, even for weighing scale to weigh our luggages and take-away breakfast very early morning, because we check-out at 6 AM.
The room is spotlessly clean, plus the shower room is just like 5 star experience, yet the price is very reasonable. They also give us breakfast although not a buffet but there are choices between western and vietnamese.

Room Tip: Rooms in 5th floor are smaller than others, probably the smallest amongst other floor. Room in 3rd f...

We were turned on to the Vega Hotel by a traveler we met in Laos who raved about it.....they were right!! The hotel is new...the staff amazing...the breakfast great! We ended up staying 3 nights with them..they helped us with our Halong Bay and Sapa tours (which are a must do) and we always felt well taken care of. Rates were about $25 but well worth it. Central to shopping and food.....give em a call.

We had stayed elsewhere in the old quarter and had looked at many other Hotel rooms wanting to stay elsewhere in Hanoi. It was a pleasure to find Vega Hotel, with good prices, spotless rooms and friendly helpful staff. (They even opened up the hotel at 5.30 in the morning after we returned from a tour that we had booked through them)! Loved the location, wasn't quite as busy on the streets outside as other old quarter areas, and was close to the railway station and the French quarter. Best of all got the best night sleep in Vietnam- the rooms are dark and quiet. Very happy with the service and would recommend this hotel to others. Chris & Dom. australia

This is a great hotel. Excellent rooms, friendly staff and good location. The decor in the hotel areas is a little bit funky and unusual which we liked. There is even a piano if you fancy a bit of a sing song. Great value for money.
