Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights, it's on the southern edge of the old quarter just 2 streets north of the lake. It has everything you would expect in your room plus a PC should you need one ( no facebook though it's banned in Vietnam) We had a room facing the street and it was silent inside not a sound (perfect) breakfast was fantastic with Asian style food, continental style and eggs any way you want, coffee was good, fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice. Staff were very helpful and always had a smile for you. Air con was excellent and quiet. There is a restaurant and a swimming pool on the roof with great views, If you walk out of the hotel and turn right you will find a great little bar / restaurant on the corner, it's upstairs and is great for watching the chaos below! Oh and really cheap! Once you reach the lake there are 3 or 4 cash machines if you need them and more restaurants but they are more expensive.
In short I would happily stay here if I return to Hanoi and I intend to! It's a bit more expensive than some which are better rated on trip advisor but I am happy to pay it.
