“Peace and quite in the midst of mayhem!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights, it's on the southern edge of the old quarter just 2 streets north of the lake. It has everything you would expect in your room plus a PC should you need one ( no facebook though it's banned in Vietnam) We had a room facing the street and it was silent inside not a sound (perfect) breakfast was fantastic with Asian style food, continental style and eggs any way you want, coffee was good, fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice. Staff were very helpful and always had a smile for you. Air con was excellent and quiet. There is a restaurant and a swimming pool on the roof with great views, If you walk out of the hotel and turn right you will find a great little bar / restaurant on the corner, it's upstairs and is great for watching the chaos below! Oh and really cheap! Once you reach the lake there are 3 or 4 cash machines if you need them and more restaurants but they are more expensive.
In short I would happily stay here if I return to Hanoi and I intend to! It's a bit more expensive than some which are better rated on trip advisor but I am happy to pay it.

The location and decor of the hotel was excellent. It was right in the centre of the Old Town, and very easy to get taxis to further away sites - hotel staff will help you call a reliable one, so that you will not get overcharged and also advise you on what you should expect the maximum fair to be.

The staff were very friendly and on hand to offer advice, with good knowledge of the area and tourist sites.

The actual rooms, although a little small, were very opulent and grand. The bathroom was of a large size and, although there was no bath, the shower was excellent. The beds were very comfortable.

The restaurant and bar provided good service, and had a very nice view.

Only complaint would be the pool which was very small. On providing the hotel with feedback, they replied that they could not have a larger pool due to it being on the roof - however, we had just come from a hotel with a bigger pool on the same floor... Anyway, they added that it had an artificial current so that people could actually swim, but not really what I was looking for from a hotel pool.

Overall, very nice hotel - great staff, nice, comfortable rooms, good breakfast (Western and Vietnamese). It was also currently undergoing building work - so hopefully even nicer in the future.

I really love the location that this hotel provides, it's near the center of all the attractions and shopping around the area. I would highly recommend the hotel for anyone who wants to stay here because the service and hotel room qualities are of really high standards. The rooms are huge and spacious with romantic lightings. The money you pay for is really worth it as the hotel is very receptive in allowing you to leave your luggage with them when you travel out of Hanoi. I went to a 2day1night tour with GrayLine Cruise and loved it as well.
The breakfast choices are decent and it offers local cuisines as well as international breakfast too.
The rooms are pretty amazing with a computer for you as well as televisions, hot water boilers, hairdryers and really comfortable beds with really good air-conditioning.
Right now there is renovation going at the pool area but we have no been disturbed by anything loud or noisy.
You can walk down the streets for really nice food and it's within minutes to the lake nearby!

Room Tip: Stay over during the weekends because there will be a night market on the street nearby.

My family and I stayed at Tirant thrice during our 10-day stint in Vietnam, as we travelled back and forth between Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue and Hoi An. Handily located in the Old Quarter, Tirant is a five-minute walk from the lake, night market, water puppet theatre and a short drive away from the Cathedral and Hoa Lo prison.
Location aside, Tirant should be known for its friendly and helpful staff, who epitomize 'service with a smile'. Bella at the front desk told us that it would be quicker to fly to Hue directly instead of going via road after landing at Da Nang and even helped us re-book flight tickets. Nancy was always on hand to help out with travel queries and room arrangement. From directing our cabs, telling us how to brew their welcome drink and how to hunt down the sweets stocked in the lobby, Tirant's staff did everything possible to make our trip hassle-free. The only suggestions I would have is for the improvement of their somewhat-repetitive breakfast buffet and to install a health faucet in their toilets.

Room Tip: Talk to the staff. They're very helpful.

We stayed at the hotel during our whole stay in Hanoi with on/off trips over 20 days. It quickly became our second home and the kids loved it. The main reason is the staff who were absolutely fantastic and they made us feel welcome every day. No request was too big. Our BEST recommendation.

Tirant Hotel is a pretty good hotel. Despite having a little higher price than other hotels in the area, Tirant did not disappoint. The location was great, service was good (they upgraded me when I stayed a second time after going to Halong Bay in between), the rooms were pretty clean, shower was very comfortable, breakfast buffet was tasty, and all in all, just a solid hotel. My only tip is if you are a light sleeper, beware that rooms with windows pick up construction nearby. Also, the walls are thin, too, and you can hear people in other rooms and in the hallways. Other than that, i would recommend Hotel Tirant

This review comes from my past managing experience in hotels both large and" boutique".What stood out about the Tirant Hotel was old fashion guest attention and detail. On receiving our booking through a agency the hotel confirmed the booking and a special request the next day and left a contact if I should require any further assistance. All correspond was quick and efficient along with confirming dates and prices of trips and tours.Yes I used the web for prices and beforehand, but found confidence in the Hotel booking them and taking deposits when necessary. Superb guided street tour with recommended guide.Usually I am independent.Turned out to be the highlight of our trip especially as my partner was new to "street food".Yes the old "look at our guest arrival list".Greeted, acknowledged and knew our itinerary . 5 star for service. Thankyou

Room Tip: we choose a room with window,a little extra but well worth it
