“Convenient Location & Great Customer Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2013

My family and I stayed there for 4 nights. The hotel is clean, quiet, convenient with reasonable price. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. There was a bit cultural shock upon arriving in Vietnam. But the warmest welcome from the staffs made us feel home. They were so friendly and helpful. They gave us a map and showed us the best places to go. They gave us suggestion to make sure we would have great time during our stay. Bobby, the GM of the hotel, brought us for city tour. He was an awesome tour guide. Monsoon hit Halong Bay, so we didn't manage to visit the beautiful place. However, Bobby had arranged another tour to Tam Coc for us. They were flexible yet efficient. Whatever request or changes we made, they would do their best to serve their customers. The breakfast provided in hotel was simple but delicious. Although the traffic was crazy, I sort of adapted myself to their culture. I had a lot of fun exploring Old Quarter and Vietnamese culture. The trip was wonderful.

From outside the hotel doesn't look very grand but from inside the hotel is comfortable and conveniently located. We stayed there 3 nights with an additional night at Halong Bay which was arranged by Alex the Manager at the Hotel. Got there on Sat June 8th and we were picked up by a driver F.O.C (arranged by hotel). Return trip from Hotel to Airport is not included unless you book Halong Bay Package with Hotel. Please take note that there are 2 exit at Hanoi Internaional Airport so your driver might be at the other section. Driver will have a sign with your name on it. Unfortunately our driver was no where in sight therefore I had to call the hotel. One of the Information Counter was kind enough to let us use their phone.

Upon arrival at the Hotel we were served with orange drink and shown to our room. The day time Manager Loau was extremely helpful and informative with recommendations, directions and maps. There were lot of food stores within walking distance to the hotel. Close by was the Lake and Fivimart (Supermarket). The water puppets show was not too far off (15 to 20 mins walk).
If you are not afraid of riding like one of the locals then I would suggest renting a scooter (USD 8 for a day gas not included .USD 3 of gas would be sufficient for 1 day). It was very nice to be able to ride all over the place. The weather was extremely hot and the scooter helped. We went to the Museum and found out that it closes during lunch time. You can re enter after lunch break. On the weekends the night market is open at night and the usual items are sold ie telephone accesories, clothing and some food. On the north side of hotel there is a wet market which is open during the morning and early afternoon. This is where you can purchase coffee beans, lotus seeds, souvenirs, etc.

There is the usual Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tower, and Library if you are interested. There is a brand new Mall called Vincom where you can get on top floor Phoa 88 Restaurant(Vietnamese noodles).

People in Hanoi do not sleep early at night as they are out in the middle of the night eating and drinking. We were at Ho Chi Minh square where people went walking around in the grassy area as if doing their morning walks at 10 pm. The air in Hanoi was really bad as you can see the haze all around.

The next morning we were picked up after breakfast at the Hotel at 8:30am. The breakfast at the hotel was very basic. They provide some swissrolls, bread and fried springrolls. You can order Phoa (vietnamese noodles either chicken or beef) and or fried eggs and toast. Coffee and tea are provided. The staff were wonderful people.

The best was our trip to Halong Bay as the air there was so much better. It took us 3.5 hours to get to Halong Bay. Lunch was served after checking in on the Boat. We were taken by small boat to Bat Cave and also allowed to canoe for 40 mins. The meals were all provided although drinks are not provided ie wter, beer. So bring a few bottles of water with you .
Staying a night on board the Boat was absolutely heaven. The Boat anchored and we were able to enjoy the constant breeze after dinner up on the deck. Night and day scene was spectacular. We were told there were going to be squid fishing but that never happened so we just sat up the deck and enjoyed the cool breeze and night sky.

After breakfast we were supposed to go to the beach but that was also cancelled. We had to clear the rooms by 9am and lunch was served at around 11:30 am. After lunch we took the small boat back to shore where we waited for our bus which was late 1.5 hours.

Back to Hanoi for another night at Pearl Suite Hotel. Overall I like the Hotel because it was reasonably price and staff was friendly. Location was excellent. Thanks Alex, Loau and staff.

I travelled to many countries in S.E Asia, yet I still remember Alex's name from one of the best stays I had. He truly went above and beyond for us on our short stay. Having just arrived in Vietnam,it was a bit of a culture shock,in a good way, so having the staff make us feel at home was a great welcome to Vietnam. They were pretty much waiting our arrival and sprung into action as we arrived. The room was spacious, clean and fully kitted with what we needed, breakfast was yummy and full of selection. Hotel location was close to places to eat, the river in the middle for city, the theatre, etc. We let the front desk know our travel plans and how much time we had. They recommeded a Halong Bay tour and organised it for us,well worth it! We had train tickets we had booked at the airport, that we had to collect elsewhere, and the hotel picked them up for us without us asking, wow! From recommending places to eat, things to do in Hanoi, organising a taxi to the train station,we were fully catered for beyond the norm, which was a pleasant surprise. I left a tip particulary for Alex but he was happy it be put in the tip box for everyone to share it wow! My stay was short, and I so wished it had been longer!

Room Tip: Try ask for a room in the back for a quiet night fromt the Vietnamese scooters. The hotel was a lit...

We, a mature aged couple, stayed at Pearl Suites Grand Hotel for 4 night's and then 1 more night. The hotel is clean, quiet and in the best location in the old quarter. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Alex, the manager, organised our travel to Sapa and then to Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island. The trips were perfect and they dropped us off to the trains, which was awesome, as it's difficult to ensure you get the correct platforms. Rooms were made available for a rest and freshen up after the early arrival from Sapa, before heading off to Halong Bay. The trips he arranged were great value. The breakfast is varied and fresh, again staff amazing. Highly recommend this comfortable, friendly hotel...home away from home atmosphere.

I stayed here for four nights. Check in and check out were fast. There was no sales pitch for tours. The morning breakfast was good and the two ladies working the breakfast room provided attentive service. I stayed in a standard room. Standard rooms have a window that opens to an interior corridor and measure 8x15 or 120 sq ft. The wall behind the bed was an accent wall that had touches of wood, contrasting color wallpaper, and a framed picture. The room had both indirect and recessed light fixtures. The shower had a rain-type head and the bathroom sink had stone surfaces. There was a large LCD television. In general, the room was well maintained and in good condition. The room had design touches that are typical of higher priced hotels. The location in the old quarter is good. For young people (under 30) there is a big new hostal around the corner that has a bar that is very popular. There are many restaurants nearby and the bier hoi street is only a couple of blocks away. The sword lake is a short walk.

We book 4 rooms 2N stay in this hotel, the rooms are big and clean, the restaurant provide western and local breakfast. if you like the local food, just walk out from hotel you can see all kind of Vietnamese local food and restaurant, if you like shopping, you can get it here by walking distance. The manager and staff are very helpful and always with smiling face. We are strongly recommended to stay at this hotel to all my friends when they visit Hanoi.

Room Tip: room on the 5th floor - water presure a bit low.

We, a mature aged couple, stayed at Pearl for 4 night's. We had a huge balcony, room spotless clean, walk around the corner to good restaurants with great food and prices and shops, water puppets and lake. Everything in the old quarter is in easy walk...fabulous area. The breakfast was lovely with daily choices. The staff are amazing...nothing too much trouble and happy, friendly people. Alex, the manager, booked us a tour of Halong Bay and Lan Ha bay that was wonderful and great price. Also booked our trains to Sapa, pickups and drop offs and flight back to Saigon. All this at great price's and services to match. Held our luggage whilst away and gave us a room to nap in before heading off again. A wonderful place to stay and we'll be back. Best hotel of our 2 month trip!!

Room Tip: Ask for balcony room...big and able to see and hear local life.
