“Excellent quality hotel”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

We stayed in this hotel for 2 separate nights. The extremely friendly reception staff spent an unusually long time with each new guest explaining the hotel amenities and peculiarities of the location during check-in after a cold-drink and refreshment towels had been provided. The room we had booked was a double-deluxe on the top floor (room 92) located within the recently newly added section of the hotel. The room was clean, modern and functional and its size small but sufficient (see pics). Flower petals were sprinkled over the bed and could also be found in the bathroom which gave it a really friendly and fresh ambiance. Both a laptop and free wifi were provided within the room. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. However, the telephone shower could not be used on its holder as the hinge was too lose. This particular room proved to be relatively noisy during the night because of loud music/karaoke emanating from the lively neighbourhood.

We mentioned both the noise and the bathroom problems to the staff when we checked out while also booking another night two days later after our return from Ha Long Bay. This time we were given a deluxe-suite (room 55) including a complementary bottle of wine for the same price. The hotel staff is certainly willing to go the extra mile to keep all guests very happy.

The breakfast selection is great, staff speak good English and are exceptionally helpful and friendly providing an excellent service. The hotel is conveniently located within the charming and interesting old part of Hanoi with plenty of shopping opportunities and within easy walking distance of the lake. The transfer to the airport takes approximately 45mins. We used the hotel limo-service to the airport at 380,000 Dong, about the same we had to pay for a banged-up taxi with dodgy looking driver when we arrived at the airport.

I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

My Mum (61) and I stayed here on our first 2 nights of our Vietnam Tour.
The hotel is in a fantastic location in the Old quarter, only walking distance to the lake, puppet theatre, shops and tour operators.
BUT
you'd think in all of the hustle and bustle of Hanoi (think 1 million Mopeds beeping) that this'd prove an unfortunate location noisewise, but our room was silent. Quiet and efficient Aircon means you don't need to open any windows, and there was no noise problem (either night).

Upon arrival we were welcomed by a very friendly and enthusiastic staff (Jack and Tracey) who made us feel special and welcome. We also received a welcome drink and fruit basket which was a lovely touch.

We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was tourist prices but lovely and air conditioned and we'd been travelling for about 18 hours so we were tired! Breakfast had a good variety and lovely fruit. Great to have a mixture of continental, oriental and cooked breakfasts.

All in all a lovely stay in a clean, comfortable, quiet, friendly hotel in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. You'll be pleased you spent the money when it's 35 degrees and 85% humidity outside!

Room Tip: We were in 506 which was lovely and quiet as it faces behind the building rather than to the road.

Check in was friendly and efficient. The ambience was cosy and welcoming. We had booked a deluxe room, which was on the 9th floor in the hotel's new section. It had everything we needed including a laptop. What I really like was the green approach , no plastic bags in the bins, no plastic wrapping around the bathroom accessories and ceramic holders for the shower gel etc.. We arrived around midday so were able to explore the Old Quarter, It was very convenient as all we had to do was walk out the front door wit a map provided by the front desk. For exploring the old part of town the location couldn't have been better. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which offered a good selection served by friendly knowledgeable staff. Upstairs everything worked and we turned in . Unfortunately there was a bit of noise (Friday night) from the local bar . When we mentioned this to staff. not only were they concerned but offered us an upgrade if available on our return in two days . The upgrade was excellent , bigger room with a balcony overlooking the ever busy streets of Hanoi . Breakfast was from 6.30 and was delicious. We had to leave for the airport at 7am so the thoughtful staff packed us a takeaway breakfast.

We were impressed with the hotel. The staff was welcoming, and gracious. They helped us book an excursion, and gave us a great restaurant recommendation. The location is good, plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was smaller, but well appointed, and enough space for our family of four. The breakfast buffet was really good, with plenty of selections. Try the hotel restaurant on the top floor in the evening to see the city lights. Good choice for our stay in Hanoi. We hired a driver through the hotel to pick us up at the airport, so easy transportation.

Undoubtely the best place to stay in the old quarter at this price range. Very friendly, helpfull staff with great breakfast. Its quite similar to ruby elegance except it also has a spa. I stayed two nights at each hotel on my way to and on my way back :D

We stayed for four nights at this hotel in the old quarter. It is in the center of all the action, and is beautifully appointed. However, as if that wasn't enough, the best thing about this hotel are the staff, who are helpful and welcoming. The staff really went above and beyond in making recommendations, answering our questions, and helping us navigate Hanoi. We left this hotel for a 3 day tour in Ha Long Bay, and planned to return to Hanoi only shortly before getting on a bus up North. The staff let us park our luggage in the hotel and get dinner, and even offered us a room to clean up before our bus ride. I really can't say enough about this hotel and its wonderful staff.
