“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

Great location (although I prefer the other Meracus location for a longer stay) on the shoe street.
Matress - very good, second best we had in Asia.
Breakfast - excellent, varied through the stay.
Service - excellent. The staff tries their absolute best.
Laundry - pretty good and the rates are ok. Although the result would probably be the same as if done on the street. More convenient though.
Internet connection pretty good. A computer was supplied in each room in case you do not have a wireless device.
We had the smallest room with no outside window and it was still a very good option, but I would opt for a room with an outside window next time if staying longer.
Hotel design - pretty impressive.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a room with an outside window if the budget allows or staying longer.

The hotel is located in the old quarter right in the middle of the shoe market. The staff is quite efficient and attentive. I was surprised by the size of the rooms given the cost per night. And to top it off, there was free wi-fi and breakfast. The room even had a laptop to use. There was little to complain about, except that on check out I was told there was a 3% charge if I used a credit card. I wish this was made clear during the reservation process, as I didn't have sufficient cash on hand. Also I booked a tour to Halong Bay through the hotel. I wanted something cheap and made this clear to the girl. It was only during the tour that I found that I paid for a bigger meal. Even if it was a $1 less, I would have preferred the smaller meal for the tour. I know I'm nit picking over here, but like I said, the place was great with little to complain about.

Dear our valued customer,

Your comment is important for us to know how you felt and what you thought of our service, and we comprehend that a few inconveniences/misunderstandings have affected your experiences. Accordingly, it’s vital for us to clarify the ambiguous points for you and other readers to perceive well what we did with the efforts to make you enjoy the vacation as thoroughly as possible.

Firstly, the hotel tariff is always shown at the net rates of cash that include government tax and service charge already, plus many other items, for instance: various breakfast, free personal computer and internet connectivity, complimentary amenities… As a result, when settling the bill, you pay the net amount only by cash with nothing on top, and it’s obviously clear and more economical for you. When the payment is made by Visa or Master card, however, 03% bank fee will be added following the hotel policy, which makes a minor difference, thus it would be be better for you to use cash. Furthermore, upon guest’s check-in, we always reconfirm the booking details and inform that there will be 03% bank fee for card payments, and then our guest can make their own decision to settle the bill at check-out time.
Somehow, you might not hear it clearly or misunderstand what the receptionist said to be more aware of cash preparation for your check-out.

Secondly, the tour you joined was actually a group one that usually had just basic standards. Realizing that the group tour could be an economical option for guests, but it should have a fairly higher quality of services in order to bring our ones enjoyable and interesting experiences, we have chosen the best travel companies possibly to guarantee the guests’ satisfaction.

Thanks to our tight corporations, our partners highlighted our bookings with the bonus/special offer for the meal, since it’s a truly significant part of services. Of which, our guests would have more options for food and better energy for a long day to Halong bay and back, from 08 AM to 08:30 PM. In addition, the price you paid when booking via us was lower than what the agency directly offered to travellers. In this situation, you paid less but got more. The point was that what we and our partner did might not be clearly perceived; therefore it was confusing and unsuccessful in meeting your satisfaction.

Anyway, our responsibility was taking care of you during your stay at Meracus Hotels and we felt very sorry when you were not completely happy with our assistance and services. Besides, we also thank you very much for telling us your true thoughts, accordingly, we would be able to make it clearer and more understandable for the next time you come back and our upcoming guests also.

All in all, we are grateful for being your choice of the hotel in Hanoi, and we hope that we will have another opportunity to welcome you back as our patronage is remarkable to us.

Wishing you all the best for a Happy New Year 2014 with many blessings and happiness!

Kind regards,

General Manager

Room is fantastic, comfortable and clean.

Overall great stay here. Will definitely come back to stay here.

The hotel has cosy and clean rooms. The staff is very helpful. The airline cancelled our flight and the staff at the reception managed to find a replacement flight and also helped us to get a refund for the cancelled flight.
Good breakfast and very attentive staff, overall very good experience.

Room Tip: We booked the delux room. I think the rating of the room is due to a big balcony. Ask for a room on...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We loved it! The room is clean and spacious, they decorate the beds and sink with rose petals. You find fruits in the room and also free water. The staff is very nice and always ready to help you. Fresh towels and tea on arrival. Breakfeast is good. They give you a detailed map with the things to do in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The location is very good. At the departure you find a nice surprise on the bed. Don' t hesitate to stay in this hotel!

We book this hotel for the last day of our stay in Hanoi and we were sorry not to find it from before. The room is comfortable and has everything you need. They also have a pc in the room. The staff is really sweet and caring. After a long trip from Halong Bay we were greeted with a smile, a cold drink and a cool towel. They gave us much information about the area. The hotel is very near the lake and very convenient for shopping and dining. Our room was at the back side of the hotel and it was very quiet.

The breakfast is wonderful. They have many choices and everything was tasty.
Hanoi is an We definitely stay here again if we go back to Hanoi!
