“Small, not much to see or do”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

I expected the silk village to be more like the colorful, bustling center or Hoi An, so it was a bit of a disappointment. There were significantly fewer shops, and the merchandise was rather limited. Primarily only ready made clothing (as opposed to the custom shops you can find in other parts of Vietnam) and scarves. Not really any decorative items for the home. We had intended to spend a few hours here and maybe grab lunch as well, but other than 1 or 2 fruit vendors and a few small pharmacies, there weren't really any other dining options. We were able to pop into the 2 temples and all of the silk kiosks (around 25) in just over an hour. This is definitely not a full day or even half day excursion if you plan to work it into your schedule.

“Genuine and cheap silk!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2013

It's very easy to get here. Take xe ôm (motorbike taxi) for about 4-5 dollars each way. A lot more expensive by taxi.
Here, you'll get to see how they produce silk products. And you can purchase good quality and cheap silk here. This is my go-to place when I need to by gifts for my international friends.
About 5 dollars for a silk scarf, That's a good bargain, right?

Go there if your purpose is to buy silk fabrics and scarf. Otherwise, do not come here coz nothing for your visit. The good thing is the price of silk is cheaper than Dong Xuan market and not crowded.

“A silk village you can see people weaving silk cloth”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

This is originally a village people produce silk and silk products. However, it seems the business has come down and nowadays not so many silk factories. Most products can be found in Hoan Kiem Area and even cheaper there. Products not exceedingly cheap and this place is quite far away from the city. Not a particular attraction for tourists or even local people. Especially do not go right after lunch, most shops are closed for afternoon sleep.

“Not interesting enough”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2013

When I heard about "Village", it crossed in my mind that it is very old and traditional, but in fact, it is modern. One minor of this village :(
Also there are many silk shops there, but the real silk is little. Silk there might make in China, not from Van Phuc. If you have to use the good product, you should go to folk person there to ask for the special and good one.
