Found this hotel to be nice and comfortablel. Room was clean but the carpet need a wash. Breakfast was plenty and tastefull. Staff friendly and helpfull. ATM machine right outside the hotel. Only thing negative is that the hotel is far from the city center.

Room Tip: higher up less noise from the streets

I stayed here for 2 nights and found the hotel to be a good business hotel. The location is far from ideal being some distance away from the city centre or the old quarters where the attractions are. However, the room was comfortable and adequate. Being allocated a room at a higher floor, I was able to have a good city view of Hanoi. Would recommend this more for business travellers.

Room Tip: Request for a higher floor room.

My own opinion:

Upside (1) clean and nice room with comfortable lounge at the executive floor (2) nice chinese restaurant (3) staffs are friendly (4) close to PetroVietnam office if you have a business there (5) lobby nice

Downside (1) surrounding area is not that nice but this is a minor issue

Stayed during October 2012, overall very satisfied with the hotel especially on the executive floor. The executive floor has own lobby for check-in, extended check out time, private breakfast area, gym, pool, access to meeting room free etc. Room was great, wifi-access, plenty of entertainment, spa, karaoke, even casino! You'll never get bored in Hanoi.

Pros:-
-Good Services
-Executive floor check-in, late check out, private breakfast area
-good gym with pool
-Great breakfast
-plenty of entertainments
Cons:-
-Too many smoking guests..

Guests seem to be mostly businessmen. Ro was spacious and clean, just that air con gets a tad noisy. Stayed on non smoking floor facing swimming pool so no traffic noise at all. But can hear the piped music that comes on at the corridor every morn that renders an alarm clock useless.

Food was pretty average. The supposed Singaporean dishes are not impressive though.

Cabs to city and old quarter about 15 min ride but will be painfully prolonged in peak hour traffic.

The Al Fresco's next door that serves pizza, pasta, ribs etc ain't that yummy but service is good.

I organized a regional meeting here. The Fortuna was an excellent choice. It takes about an hour to get there from the airport. It's in a congested part of the city but once you are there most attractions are a short taxi ride away or walking distance.

The rooms are large, spacious, and well insulated and quiet. I was in a smoking room on the 10th floor because of a booking mistake by the agent but the room was clean and there was no odour. The windows have thick curtains which keep the light out so a good sleep is possible. The bathroom is also large and hot water works fine. The TV is a large flat-screen with most major cable channels. Plenty of hanging space for clothes in the wardrobe.

The lifts are a bit slow and small and I ended up walking the staircase between 1st and 3rd floors. The breakfast is buffet style on the 2nd floor. A reasonable range of Asian and Western foods with an egg station and noodle station. A good selection of juices and coffee/tea tasted ok.

Plenty of table space in the restaurant with private rooms and big screen televisions that look like they could take a large party for karaoke! On the ground floor there is a small casino and, in the basement an interesting cocktail lounge that is definitely worth visiting for one or two drinks.

Our meeting room on the 3rd floor (Laguna Room) was an excellent size for our 20+ group. It had all the audiovisual and sound equipment we needed. There were several events going on in other meeting rooms and it got a bit noisy during some sessions. Coffee breaks were organized in the foyer outside the room and that worked out well.

I found the service to be excellent. English is reasonably to well-spoken by the staff and they do their best to assist. The hotel gets a lot of business travellers and also largish tourist groups and when these groups arrive or depart together staff are a bit rushed off their feet. Currency exchange from US dollars to Vietnam dong is available at a reasonable rate.

In the area around the hotel there is a traditional Vietnamese restaurant called Ao Ta and a good Korean/Japanese style BBQ restaurant called Sumo BBQ within 10 minutes walk. Right next to the hotel is a Western style restaurant with burgers, pizza, pasta, steak and even Mexican food.

Staff at the travel desk gave me great tips on restaurants in the Old Quarter. They seem in general very knowledgeable and keen to give advice. The Old Quarter with interesting shops and heritage buildings, and Hoan Kiem Lake are less than half an hour drive away. Definitely worth taking out of town guests to both places.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side of the hotel away from the main street, and those on higher levels will be quieter...

We stayed here in a group of 25 from Hong Kong for 4 nights.
Rooms are very spacious and clean and staff friendly. Breakfast was a very good buffet, with freshly cooked eggs any style on request. Good value for money. NIghtclub in Basement was a bit of a rip-off, as you would expect! Lobby Bar staff friendly, but a bit overwhelmed by such a large group. Still, they managed and kept a smile going.
Bit far out from old Quarter, but interesting area, near Indira Ghandi Park, not too far from West Lake and Temple of Literature. Al Fresco 's Pizza and Rib House next door, as well as ATM's and a proper Bank to change money.
More suitable for the middle aged (like us), or families, not for backpackers.
