Not far from his Mausoleum, it is interesting to see how this great little man lived . Cute the garage with the 2° hand cars. His house on stilts , bedroom , study. The lake and the gardens are an oasis from the caos of the streets. On the same grounds is the Presidential Palace. “Little HOuse On The Lake”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

It was hard to imagine why Ho Chi Min wouldn't want to live here. With all the hustle and bustle of the big city, a little house on the lake would be where I would settle that's for sure!
It's not like Japanese movies like I'd thought. You know how how everything is dark green and then there's a pristine white pavilion. This was more like brown ground and palm trees. like Burma. I got a few ideas for my own house. It's very calming. loved the vege patch.

“Nice Stroll”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

Walked thru this area with my guide who explained Ho Chi Minh's background as we looked at the two homes he occupied. He lived a very simple life and appreciated beautiful grounds/landscaping and water. There is also a bunker adjacent to his first home which I wish would have been available to tour. Peaceful but not exciting.

“Calm and Serene”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

It is uplifting to visit Ho Chi Minh's Residence, as part of a tour we visited the Ho Chim Minh Mausoleum and then walked over to the residence and the house on stilts. The yellow house is resplendent and huge, but our tour guide told us that Ho Chi Minh actually chose to live in the house on stilts. We saw his three automobiles and some of his rooms sparsely furnished. The garden and the pond that surrounds the house is beautiful and serene. There were plenty of grapefruit on trees in the garden when we visited. The place is a welcome change after the gravitas of the visiting the mausoleum.
