The palace and grounds are beautiful and the private residence is quaintly situated on a small lake - all very lovely and a nice respite from the busy city. Definitely worth a visit while in Hanoi as depicts the REAL Ho Chi Minh, a simple man who wanted to live a simple life and win freedom for the people of Vietnam.

We visited at 8.30 am and already it was very popular and busy. Try not to visit on a Sunday if possible as the queues build up from around 7.30am. The actual residence is quite small and simple, but the grounds and a lake are pretty to walk around

Here you have it: Uncle Ho's crib, the big French mansion he shunned for more modest digs, his rides (including a way-cool Russian armored car), his fish pond, and the bunker where he hid while Nixon dropped payload after payload from B-52s on Hanoi. Interesting, yes. But hey, everybody's gotta live somewhere.

Was part of a day trip of Hanoi, is in a beautiful garden location
and still an interesting part of history that I'm glad I saw.
