“Affordable Elegance”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I stayed at this lovely hotel after reading TA reviews. It is centrally located, offers a delightful variety at breakfast (6.30-10.00), has very comfortable large rooms with great air conditioning and lovely bathrooms. The reception staff will assist you with your every need, advise you on where to eat, places to go, costs of tickets, but only if you ask and it's worth asking. The hotel offers guests great street maps and will help guide you in the right direction. Linh was especially knowledgeable and helpful during my visit - many thanks Linh. The staff will help you cross Hang Bong Street, get you into a cab, and will give you an umbrella as needed. I can't recommend this hotel and it's staff highly enough. Sleep quality can be affected due to rude and inconsiderate guests banging doors in the morning or when returning late at night - not hotel's fault. Comfy beds and puffy pillows.

If you are looking for a good quality hotel with exceptional service you really couldn't fault the Angel Palace. We used the hotel as our base while we were in Hanoi for a week tripping off every few days on short trips into the country. Right from our arrival the whole team was friendly and helpful. On our first morning we wanted to purchase sim cards and the manager Hieu was happy to give use some useful advice and arranged to have a suitable card purchased for us. Nothing was too much bother. The breakfast was plentiful and varied daily. Hue, the lovely lady in the bar was always happy to see us on our return from travelling and enquired about our trips. Our luggage was stored with no problems and the location of the hotel is just in the old town and just the right distance away from the busiest area. It really was like returning to our little haven after walking the hot busy streets. Amazingly there is no street noise to be heard in the rooms and coming back and forth to the hotel we stayed in three different ones. They were all clean and comfortable and the firmness of the bed was perfect. If I did have one complaint it would be that the beds were too big! But as it turned out everywhere we stayed seemed to favour these huge beds. The wifi connection was exceptionally good which was an added bonus. We didn't eat in the restaurant - if you want to venture out for some delicious Pho go to Pho Huy just in the next block turning right when you leave the hotel. Remember to ask the price before you sit down!

Room Tip: We also stayed in room 805 as a previous reviewer did and there was a little bit of noise but we wer...

Service is excellent and a very good breeakfast buffet. Rooms can be windowless, yet have a good quality finish.Central but on a busy yet interesting street (continuation of hang gai (silk street).Walking distance to Hoan Kiem lake.

Room Tip: Maybe windowless but worth getting a room away from the street side

The manger of this hotel is one of the most friendly and helpful people you will meet. It starts with either him personally or instructing his staff to escort you across the road and gives you lessons about how to avoid being hit by one of the thousands of Hanoi motorbikes. A refreshing drink is given to you at reception and you are shown to your room (no tip expected). Only thing, this hotel is like most of the buildings in the area, quite narrow. I'm not sure how they fit in all their rooms. We were in room 805, which has no view but does have a light well in the corner of the room. The beds very reasonably hard, but the air con worked fine. The room was noisy from what I think was a big kitchen extractor fan that turned on just after 6am but fortunately turned off just before 10pm so a reasonably rest full nights sleep in what was now a quiet room could be had. The room is not large by international standards but was Ok with minibar fridge and quite a good TV. The bathroom was very small and could have been cleaner. It was like the cleaner only looked at the bathroom upon entering and never turned around or as we do as a guest, sit on the toilet, that's when the grime and lack of "spit and polish" become obvious. The hotel has a restaurant on the mezzanine floor that is adequate and also where breakfast is served. The manager was also very helpful in advising about things to do and see. In normal terms I would probably rate this hotel about 3.5, but the managers efforts and location give it a 4. Would I stay again? If I could find nothing else for the bargain price we got, yes I would.

Dear Guests,

Thank you very much for your value feedback following your recent stay with us. We are appreciated for your kind words about our team that friendly, attentive and able to assist everything you needs.
We understand that, not only Angel Palace hotel but also others in area which at standard of 3 stars are both little small and lack of window. Due to that reason, we just finished our “View to the City Renovation” which open window for all rooms to welcome morning fresh-air, sunlight and bring a unique experience of traditional Hanoi corners to our guests. From now on, we happy to announce that we are able to provide the very best services to our clients.
I have passed your kind comments to all the team who appreciate your time and we look forward to welcoming you back on a future visit.

We stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights and I would definitely recommend it. The hotel is located around 5 - 10 minutes walk from Hoam Kiem lake on Hang Bong which is one of the main streets through the old quarter, so in a great place. The hotel was modern and immaculate, staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was great value for money and if I was ever back in Hanoi I would stay there again.

I am so pleased that you had a wonderful stay with us on your first night away from your little one and I am delighted that you had a relaxing stay and felt that you had chosen well. We are very centrally located close to Hoan Kiem Lake and all the shops on Old Quarter and of course close by all landmarks in area. It is so pleasing to know that you found the team welcoming and friendly and happy that we were able to spoil you a little on your short visit.

We recently had 3 nights at this hotel and were very impressed by the care shown to us by every staff member. All spoke good english and loved to chat. Room was well appointed, breakfast was fantastic and their willingness to assist in making our first trip to Hanoi enjoyable and memorable was just great. Offers much more than a 3 star hotel.
