“Lovely boutique hotel”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

At this price point it is hard to fault the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and well appointed, bordering on luxury. Staff are competent and attentive, while not fluent in English, is able to bring the point across, whether it is to recommend a restaurant or to arrange a bike rental or explaining the bill. Not super central, but close enough.

Lovely boutique hotel in heart of lively old city. Clean rooms, decent simple breakfast buffet. Very noisy outside hotel & basic rooms do not have window but balcony room can be too noisy as opens to street. Mine had Tet decorations brightly flashing so felt like I was in Macy's window at Christmas! The bedding & sheets are a dream in luxurious cotton & front desk & restaurant staff very helpful. Hotel has sister restaurant called Coyen at 99 Hoan Kiem Street DEFINITELY worth a try. Coffee shop on street level - trendy restaurant upstairs.

Room Tip: Note no windows in some rooms but all very comfortable. Not worth paying for suite if you don't...

A very narrow hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter of Ha Noi. Every space was used to provide excellent accommodation. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and well designed to fit in the narrow space. We had a couple of meals in the restaurant which were tasty. Great selection of Chilean wines! The location was superb for exploring the central part of the city. Coping with the traffic in the street outside was a challenge but fun! We would stay here again in in Ha Noi

I was travelling with my sister and we were happy with the hotel choice. After going to and fro between this hotel that's tucked away in the busy streets vs a larger, grander hotel, I think we made the right choice for us. Maison D'Hanoi sits on a relatively quiet street with medicine halls and old-school shops rather than the bustling cross streets that are chockfull of street vendors and tourist traps. We were close enough to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit, including the main shopping street where we hung out most of the time. The main cafes and shops I wanted to see turned out to be within a 10 minute radius from the hotel so it worked out really well.

Some tips
- I've read elsewhere that the regular rooms are small so we opted for the Suite which was comfortable with a large window overlooking the quaint street. We'd recommend this option if budgets allow.
- We had requested a quiet room but since we were facing the street (which is more charming), and a school, morning announcements woke us every day... It was very annoying but it did get us up bright and early so we didn't wind up wasting too much time lounging in bed. Worked for us though it might be hard on those who were out late the night before.
- Bathrooms are a bit awkward in that you can tell it's been roughly refurbished but it was something we can overlook, even as extremely fussy travelers.

Tucked away in Ha Noi's Old Quarter with ready access to the huge variety of shops, restaurants and places worth checking out there, we thoroughly enjoyed our large, street-view room in the Maison D'Hanoi Boutique Hotel, which had free wi-fi and plenty of room for us to work as needed. The daily buffet breakfast that was included with the room was diverse and very good, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable.

Room Tip: We liked the large, street view room the best

We stayed here off and on in total 5 days. Very nice place, the hotel is 3 meters wide but very efficiently designed and the rooms are complete and rather small but for us certainly OK.
The extra services ( drinks, etc) are not cheap. Staff is courteous and service minded, quite a difference from other places in Vietnam..

Room Tip: I would recommend to go above the 2nd floor and stay away from room 206 near the kitchen, the kitche...

We stayed at the hotel for a few hours including one night's sleep. The hotel is rather small and its rooms are very small also. But the decoration is nice, the rooms are clean and they have everything a visitor might want. The breakfast is also nice with an adequate buffet. The breakfast area is very small so you might have to wait for the person in front of you to help himself before you get what you want. The hotel's location is excellent as a base to explore the old part of the city. The only issue is the noise. Even the rooms that do not overlook the main street are noisy but I found that this is an issue with most hotels in Vietnam...

Dear MarSo68,

Thank you so much for your comment. You know our hotel is central. The land is very expensive and of course, every hotel in this area likes our hotel: small and view limited. Our hotel owner, tried to fix this problem by decor a nice room, modern facilities, full amenities, cleanness and well trained staff.
I do hope to welcome you back our hotel soon.

Many thanks and warmest regards.
