Meracus 2

Adjectives: Kind. Polite. Caring. Professional. Value. Integrity. Clean. Next to the cheapest ATM around. Excellent. Flawless management and team.

Meracus is polite. Welcoming you with a cold beverage and a smile.

Meracus 2 has the most outrageously delightful chef you're likely to find. Binh is simply amazing, having done his tutelage under a five star chef, this young artistic genius is sure to give his mentor a run for his money. Go to breakfast at the Meracus 2, and see for yourself.

I'm in Hanoi now, but they would not give me a discount for long stay, so, I'm in the Silk Queen, another marvelous hotel and staff, minus a chef and amazing breakfasts, and the free daily fruit baskets that you WILL receive at the Meracus 2. Compare these two hotels. High high ranks.

Meracus 2, Dante is the manager, and terrific, Anna at the front desk is a true princess, Hermes is incredibly polite and efficient and kind, and for goodness sake, don't miss Binh, the chef genius!

The brochure describes a convenient location in the heart of Hanoi and this is the truth. We had a family delux with veranda and street frontage on the 6th floor which looks down onto then bustling street below, but with the window closed, the city noise is a dull rumble only. The rooms are nice, very clean and well appointed with their own laptop and wireless. A raspberry cocktail greets you, and a fruit basket, refilled each day. The gem of this hotel must be the staff who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant (where else do they call the lift as you enter the building). They make a point to learn your names and your background. The breakfast is top rate, a mix of western and local food, three course if you wish, but the breakfast bar is small, so you have to be up early to score a table otherwise you will be eating in your room. Highly rated, reasonably priced, why would you stay anywhere else if you want a place in the centre of Hanoi

Room Tip: See above, rooms at the back are smaller but quieter

We spend a little bit more money than we normally do (because we're backpackers on a worldtrip) on this hotel, but it was worth every penny!!!

It was because of my birthday we ended up here.
The hotel staff is the most friendliest we've seen on this whole trip and when we went to our room the girl told us we got upgraded. I didnt had a clue at that moment, but it was a birthday surprise made up by my boyfriend and the hotel. She really played her role very good and when she opened the door I saw the room was candlelit and decorated with balloons and roses..! We even got a big cake!!!

The location is perfect.

The breakfast is great, you can choose whatever you want and as much as you want.

Overall, the best stay we've had being away for 6 months and still affordable!

Stayed here with a friend for 5 nights in late July/early August.
The staff are extremely friendly and are willing to help with anything - including buying rice paper rolls which we had no idea where to go to get!?

The rooms (we got to experience 2 via a free upgrade for the first night) were perfect. All the facilities you could want, spacious and, above all, clean.
Breakfast was really good - the staff were happy to bring it up to our room upon request which was a nice touch.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Hanoi.

The staff are super helpful. I booked a nights stay and they helped me book sapa and ha long bay. As I arrived back from sapa super early, they organised for me to shower and freshen up in their other hotel and free buffet breakfast before I went to ha long bay. The rooms are lovely and clean. Perfect location.

Most hotels are similarly priced in the old quarter, and offer pretty similar experiences.

Meracus was much different, and I was pleased that they exceeded my expectations a lot. Lots of details that you only see in 5-star hotels (welcome drinks, welcome fruit basket, private car, fresh flowers, etc) were a part of the experience. Lots of hotels also turn off the A/C when you take out the key, but Meracus keeps it on so the room is nice and cool when you return.

The room was great, too. Very big and long. The downside was that there was no window except for in the bathroom, but it wasn't a big deal.

Breakfast was awesome. Although it's not a buffet, they will make you whatever you want on the menu, and you can have as much as you like.

The only regret was that I didn't book a balcony room, and there were none available when I showed up.

I'll probably stay here again when I'm in Hanoi.
