I had great pleasure staying at Nam Hai for 15 nights in March 2014. Ms Thahn Loan & staff were always very helpful and friendly. My room with balcony was excellent and location is good. In 2013 I stayed on Ma May st which I enjoyed but this hotel location means access to all without the narrow streets meaning easier walking conditions as soon as leave hotel foyer

Breakfasts were good, coffee was Vietnamese style. The staff friendly, helpful and fluent in English as usual. Clean, soft comfortable beds, elevator and in a great location. Very inexpensive, not much more than the backpacker pig stys but a hundred times better and quieter. I will stay here again.

After two nights at their "sister" hotel (Hanoi Style Hotel) we moved to this delightful location. It's on the edge of the Old Quarter but still very much part of the scene. The room was soooooo quiet - we slept in til 10.30am one morning!
Clean, comfortable, well equipped, plenty of hot water, good service, wifi that works, facebook downstairs in the lobby - all signs of a good hotel in Ha Noi.
Our rate included breakfast but - be warned - you have to get in early to get a good selection of what they offer. And they can't make coffee to save themselves!!
Some of the staff are delightful as they practice their English with you.
If you are looking for a good night sleep then this place ticks the boxes

Room Tip: get down early for breakfast!

Schedule for our flight to Hanoi was experiencing new changes and we were told upon check in at the airport and our flight was also delayed for about 1 hour. Total delay of about 2 hours more.

Thank God, Staff of the Nam Hai Hotel is tasked to pick us up at the airport Hanoi remain faithful awaiting our arrival. We are very happy because we arrived at Hanoi airport's midnight. So also with the friendly receptionist greeted our arrival.

Cold air at the end of January to warm the interior is made of wood panels. Our bedroom was very spacious for the two of us and the room facilities are complete with a computer device very encouraging our hearts.

The friendliness of the hotel staff made us feel comfortable during their stay at Nam Hai Hotel.

Halong Bay tour of Nam Hai hotel is also very nice.

We would definitely recommend the Nam Hai Hotel to our friends and relatives we were going on vacation to Hanoi

We stayed here for about 9 nights in total over the start of Tet. We booked a room for about £11 including breakfast. The 1st room we had was huge with its own computer and jacuzzi bath which unfortunately stopped working, still it was a very nice room and very grand furniture. The location is good and you can walk to the lake, backpacker area and quite a few museums if you don't mind walking. The breakfast is OK, we got a bit bored with it but this is because we stayed there a lot. Though it was a good start to the day being able to have a cooked breakfast, fruit and toast. We also booked a Ha long bay trip with them. We paid $165 each for 1 night on a boat and 1 night on monkey island. The night on the boat was luxury and we felt very spoiled but then were a bit disappointed with our bungalow on monkey island as we were told this would be a solid bungalow and not your bamboo type bungalow. Though overall the trip was good. When we arrived back at the hotel I had a good mannered moan and were then shown to a different room which was just as good but unfortunately a bit smelly so I told Lily who can speak very good English, and she upgraded us free to a deluxe room which had a balcony. The room is no different from what I could tell apart from the balcony and a very good multi directional shower come steam room. So overall Lily made sure we were happy. They also invited us to their Tet celebrations for food, drinks and gifts, amazing. For the price I think this hotel is pretty good value, and the staff very accommodating and helpful. They also kept our valuables in the safe and bags in reception whilst we went on our trip. We are hopefully going back to Vietnam this winter and will definitely stay here again.

A very nice hotel which, although it is a few kilometres outside Hoi An, effectively has it's own private beach. Although it is a big hotel the service is very good and the staff helpful and attentive. Be careful of what you book though. Our "beachfront" villa strained the limits of description as, while it had an unimpeded view of the sea, it was actually about 4 villas back from the sea. This wasn't a problem although we were expecting a beachfront villa to allow you to walk straight onto the beach. The same goes for their transfers to town; there are only 4 per day which is poor.

On the other side the "beachfront" villa was lovely and well set up. It also has a lovely outside shower and has a lovely design and layout. One can walk to the villa or jump on the varies golf carts that are zooming around. Staff fell over themselves to be helpful and it was an excellent level of staff service across the board. The TV has numerous channels as well as loaded movies (abit like the digital movie selection one sees in modern long-haul aircraft). If you are into watersports the option are more limited (although this didn't really affect us as the sea was rough when we were there) although the concierge was very happy to help organise activities elsewhere.

All in all a lovely place and well worth it if you are looking for a place to relax.

We booked with Khiri Travel who I would highly recommend.
