We recently stayed at the Polonez and were delighed with the wonderful treatment we received from the staff. Since this was our first stop in Vietnam we were a little confused by the traffic, the money, bargaining options and the taxi service. The staff walked us to ATM, talked to our taxi drivers, both on departure and return to assure that we were being charged appropriately and that we arrived at our desired destination. They explained when and where bargaining was appropriate and what to expect. We wanted to take a cyclo ride and waited out in front of the hotel for approximately 5-10 minutes for one to come by. When it appeared there were none in the area, the doorman hopped on his motor bike and went to find a cyclo and have them come to the hotel for us. Amazing! The hotel is a "boutique" style hotel with basic amenities which does included internet in the lobby (no extra charge). Laundry service was good, quick and in-expensive. We chose a budget room that was basic, small, clean with a/c. Since we were not in Vietnam to spend a lot of time in a room this worked well for us. The incredible staff is an absolute asset to this hotel. The hotel is located in the garment area. You can walk to the old town/lake area in approx. 15 minutes or easily take a taxi.
