We changed locations to this hotel as our original one was in the heart of the Old Town and very small and noisy. We were upgraded to a delux suite on arrival, which was amazing. The room was bright and spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful one offered to take around the night market which was great as he helped us with the prices and the haggling. This hotel is opposite a small park and every evening there was something going on. Great end to our holiday.

Room Tip: Very busy roads around the hotel, so not easy to get across the road but that seems to be the case i...

My husband and I stayed at Anise hotel for our 2 nights in Hanoi (our second time in Vietnam) and extended our stay for another night because we felt so welcomed there.
The rooms were very spacious, clean, modern, well decorated with big window to the park, the beds, unfortunately are quite hard, but not so hard that it makes sleep uncomfortable. Our room also had a small balcony to enjoy the street view which was a busy one way street and a park opposite, a traditional corner cafe, well, if you like café, Anise hotel is a great choice with a coffee-street nearby.
Breakfast is on the 11 floor of the hotel and has a medium-sized buffet, we had to wait such a long time because there were a big group of Asia guest in there. Anyway it was not the end of world, the more the merrier.
The staff always helpful with smiling, in particular Hong who greeted us from the moment we check in until the we left, she suggested us something to do as we had never experienced before even it was not the first time we traveled to Hanoi.
The only one thing made us unhappy was the hotel is in the middle of the city and located in the busy street, the honking starts around 6:00 Am, we were up at 5:30 for an early start, so this was a problem. However I don't think a quiet spot is easily could be found in Hanoi Old Quarter.

We stayed here for 2 nights and the hotel was fine. Our room was a bit musty smelling but the bed was comfortable. The hotel location was good not to far from the places we wanted to see.
We did have some confusion, we were awaiting a pickup at 8 am by our guide early on our last morning to head on to Halong Bay and got a call from reception to sa y that our guide had called and that they wouldn't collect us until midday. Fortunately we had our guide's phone number and we tried to contact him ourselves. Fortunately he arrived shorlty before 8am and was ready to pick us up, reception had contacted the wrong room. Luckily we'd checked into it ourselves otherwise we could of headed out for a few hours around Hanoi waiting for out midday pickup.

Our first room was on the 4th floor- quite small but nice although we couldn't get wifi. We ended up going to halong bay on a different day than we had planned and hang on reception was really great in helping us book the trip, changing one of the nights we had booked at anise and arranging an extra night. She got us a better room on the boat because it was our honeymoon and upgraded us when we got back to anise (probably should have mentioned it when we first arrived). Our second room was on the 8th floor, a lot bigger and we could get wifi. The aircon stopped working at one point and they fixed it really quickly. Short walk to really good restaurants and bars.

I came to Hanoi for business purposes, booked this hotel because of my friend’s advise! During our stay of 3 days, the hotel staff has made our stay of 3 days very comfortable, felt just like home, they remember my name even I did not stay in hotel a lot. Housekeeping service was very efficient and clean, breakfast buffet was so nice offering a variety of western and vietnamese dishes, and the restaurant located in the highest floor with good view outside. The wifi was great connection at any place in hotel and it was also nice to have a small bar at the first floor.
Generally, I have no complaints and were satisfied with the experiences and feel of the Anise hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. The room was laid out with fruit water and flower petals when we arrived. only thing was the shower head was too low down for either of us to have a proper shower! We stayed an extra 2 nights than originally planned and the staff were very friendly and accomodated us even though they were very busy.

Good location, average price, but dont expect much from the breakfast. Everything was cold... no matter if you ate at 7am or 9.30. Poor wifi on the 8th floor but got better when we were moved to the 4th floor.

Dear Kristinacork,

Thank you for your kind comment posted on Tripadvisor with reference to the Anise hotel.

While we strive hard to exceed the expectations of our guests, it is always a delight to receive such positive comment.

I talked to our Chef to keep the food better and I already fixed the wifi connection at any places in our hotel not only in the low floor.

Kristinacork, once again, thank you for truly valuable feedback and I do hope that, as a result, be able to welcome you back to the Anise hotel.

Until the occasion permits,

Kind regards,

Phan Luong,

We are a family with two teenage daughters, stayed here three nights. Don't be put off by exterior. Its clean and cool inside. First night we had a problem with the a/c in our room not getting very cool, but the night staff offered us an alternative room on a different floor to our children. When we declined we were upgraded to a front facing room overlooking the park (with a balcony) The windows were double glazed and we didn't have any problem with noise - in fact we loved watching the ' exercise dancing classes' in the park for the public every evening. Breakfast was decent - nothing fabulous but all the usual suspects, omelettes, toast, croissants, fruit, cheese and cold cuts plus Asian dumplings etc. (By the way, if you are a tea drinker, maybe bring along twenty teabags and some UHT milk - their tea is awful and their milk is sweetened.) Staff were helpful - helped with booking tours and very pleasant . Had a bad experience with a taxi driver - most rides from this hotel to the old town should cost 30,000 dong (about $1.50) and one drivers' meter raced up to 100,000 dong (about $5) We challenged him and he yelled and screamed and charged us 50,000! But otherwise, had lovely experiences with very nice Vietnamese people. Unfortunately not able to go to HaLong Bay because of Typhoon approaching. Enjoyed Essence restaurant in different hotel - google it. Oh and Wifi free in hotel, like most of Vietnam.

Room Tip: If the a/c is not cold enough, tell the front reception to move you!
