“A wonderful stay”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We booked to stay here through Agoda. I emailed the hotel and arranged our transfers to them from the airport and they were very prompt to reply and organise this for me. Upon our arrival we were given a lovely refreshing cold juice and a cold cloth to wipe our faces and necks with (much needed and appreciated with the outside heat). We were escorted to our room by Hieu our lovely manager on the front desk. The bed and pillows were soooo super comfortable and the room was very clean and the air conditioner was wonderful. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was great too. The staff were friendly and would cook you anything you desired for breakfast.
We booked out for a few days as we were travelling south and the Hotel stored our large suitcase for us free of charge. We re-booked for another night before heading south and were immediately upgraded to a bigger room with a bigger window for no extra charge. Upon returning and enjoying another night with them we headed off to Halong bay and once again our large bag was minded until we returned for another night at the Hotel. Due to the fact that we were 'returning' clientele we were immediately offered yet another upgrade of our room for the same price and we were shown to our room by a lovely lady named Reeva. This room had a balcony, was super comfy again with a wonderful bed and pillows. We loved our time here and would highly recommend this Hotel.

We spent three nights at the rising dragon and it ended up feeling as though it was our 'home' in Vietnam. The staff were amazing, always going out of their way to help you and to keep the hotel clean.

The location is another draw card, being right in the old quarter.

Great value

This was a quiet, clean hotel, with amazing service. When one of my travel companions lost his backpack on a bus, the woman at the front desk made it her personal mission to call all over the city to help him find it. The entire staff were great at recommending places to eat, go out, and whether to walk or taxi- they would even estimate prices for us before we'd get into a taxi to ensure we wouldn't be ripped off. We were extremely happy with our choice to stay here!

Our daughter just completed a Fulbright north of Hanoi - & this hotel served as the Fulbrights base when in Hanoi city, which was often. My husband & I visited daughter to see where she stayed so she put us up here for a few days. It is a bargain in price and care. The deluxe room we had was clean, neat, with small balcony, flat-screen tv, & electricals that worked easily. The best part was the breakfast that was included, and the hotel help. They took care of the Fulbrights & my daughter, & did the same for us. A car picked us up from airport - they helped with restaurants when our daughter wasn't around, local stores, manicure/pedicures, massages, convenience stores - at totally reasonable prices. It felt like home away from home.

Room Tip: The deluxe room is most spacious with a balcony.

I stayed here for just 2 nights, after having made the booking online.

I was surprised at first because of the room interiors and quality. They were new and clean, very long with enough facilities.

The staff there was very friendly indeed. I came late at 11pm, one of the staff did offer me for a tour around the Old Quarter. I hesitated at first because I was travelling alone, and it was only my first time there, so you would know how I had felt. When I wanted to late check-out, they were very willing to help keeping the luggage for me, which was very kind of them.

Actually the hotel is very near the center. You just need to go outside, turn left and then turn right to Hang Thung Road and follow the direction to get to the Sword Lake. It's about 20m walk to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

The hotel was surrounded by many food stalls and traditional Hanoi style coffee shops. You could go to Nguyen Huu Huan Road for egg coffee, Yen sticky rice, cube yogurt which were all the must-try in Hanoi.

This location with the cheap price ($15~$17/night) and decent quality made this hotel a perfect choice for tourists. They had breakfast which was mostly homecook as well.

I will be there the next time I pay a visit to Hanoi for sure, still can't forget the taste of the egg coffee.

Room Tip: The hotel closes quite early at night, make sure you tell them in advance. You can ask them to ke...
