This place really is terrific on every level. The staff are some of the best we've ever experienced (after nearly 20 countries), the front desk lady (her name was Two or Too?) was just fantastic. Our room had an internal window which I was a bit worried about but ended up being fine. The foyer and rooms are a terrific standard for $65USD per night, the foyer is really quite luxurious, breakfast dining room and food/coffee/staff also excellent. Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Hanoi. Also, used Hanoi Kids tour guides which was also brilliant - free half day tour where uni students can practice their English and in return you buy them lunch at a local restaurant. Highly recommended!

Well, a lot of nice things have been written about this hotel from others. I'm going to continue the trend. Great hotel in a great location, very fair price. Where they go far above any expectations is on the service end. Incredibly friendly staff and the bend over backwards to help. This was our first stay in the country and it's quite an adjustment to everything. They could not have been more helpful to us - easy pick-ups and drop-offs to the airport, stowing our bags before we leave - and even letting us store our bags when we return for a few hours in a week.

In particular, if you're there during the night time, give a friendly hello to Mr. Dung and Mr. Tam - they were so very friendly and helpful to us and their English is very, very good. They helped us arrange a hotel in HCMC in an overwhelmingly helpful manner. Wonderful staff.

A quiet oasis in a brash and bustling city is best way to describe Elegance 3.

We had organised airport pick up through the hotel and on arrival at Hanoi airport their representative was awaiting us. There was a bit of a delay in the arrival of the actual car to transfer us ( about 15 mins) but that apart the transfer was efficient and good value.

On arrival we were welcomed with cold towels and welcome drinks. The staff were attentive, providing an orientation briefing, showing us the key points of interest in the city and where they were located in relation to the hotel. They also provided a list of recommended eateries and restaurants categorised by price / food served which we found helpful during our stay.

The rooms whilst not enormous are comfortable, well furnished and scrupulously clean. The beds are comfortable and in room safes, computers with free internet connection etc are standard facilities in the room.

Breakfast which is the only meal offered in the hotel consists of a full cooked breakfast cooked individually to your requirements as well as fresh fruit, toast and jam / marmalade and is plentiful.

We had organised a side trip to Halong Bay through the hotel midway through our stay in Hanoi and the arrangements were exactly as requested. They provided luggage storage facilities whilst we were away thus dispensing with our need to take all our heavy luggage with us.

Overall the service could not be faulted and extended throughout the hotel from the Front Desk Management to the Concierge and the housekeeping staff.

The Hanoi Elegance 3 hotel simply exceeded all our expectations. A beautiful little hotel in the heart of the Hanoi old quarter, it is a little sea of sanctuary and calm in the busy Hanoi streets and provides value for money over the 5 star chain alternatives. Step in from outside and you are greated by a friendly smile, well-spoken English and a clean, cool interior with plush decoration, warm lighting, fountains and gold fish.

The rooms where extremely clean, had a spacious bathroom and toilet facilities with all amenities provided and the beds were wonderfully comfortable with soft sheets and pillows. Each room had a LCD screen TV with hundreds of cable channels and a in-room PC with free internet - very handy for researching things to do in Hanoi.

The hotel staff were the icing on the cake, more than willing to help with any activities or organisation, good communication skills and friendly and welcoming at all times. Overall, a highly recommended hotel which will put you right in the heart of the Hanoi experience but provide that much-needed sanctuary after a hard day of bargaining and motorcycles.

What can I say, the service was fawless and exceptional right from our initial point of contact with the reservations department. Mr Duong Doan Nam was very polite and efficent with any queries we had and kindly booked a 2 night 1 day Ha Long Bay Tour with Pinta Cruise and hotel transfers from the airport. When we arrived at the hotel we were treated like royalty, the front desk reception already knew our names and greeted us with a smile, welcome drinks and provided us with a very useful map we used throughout our trip and advised us of the main attractions in Hanoi. Check in only took 5 minutes and we were able to check in early at 10.30am! This was such a huge relief as we had no sleep the previous night and we were able to get some rest immediately. As it was our wedding anniversary the hotel made it special by providing a complimentary bottle of red wine and a dozen roses upon arrival in our room as well.

All the staffs at the hotel from the doorman, front reception, restaurant staff and housekeeping were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Each time we left the hotel we left our keys at the front desk and when we returned back from a long day we didn't even have to mention our name or room number, the staff already made a effort to remember. Nothing was too much trouble for the front desk from calling a tourist taxi (that used a meter) for us or recommending where to shop or eat. The front desk reception also booked for us a massage at "Just Massage", dinner at the Green Tangerine, Water Puppet Theatre tickets (2nd row tickets) and VIP tickets to the Hanoi Opera house to see an Italian piano performance by invitation only. Having such great seats definately made this one of the highlights of our trip that we will always remember.

The hotel is situated in a very good location in the old quarter and the daily breakfast was delicous especially the chocolate pancakes and Beef/Chicken noodle soup Another bonus was having a computer with internet access in the room which we found very useful. The decor of the room is very nice and the room is comfortable but the only reason why we did not give it full points was that after our Ha Long Bay tour we were allocated a different room on the second floor very close to the kitchen. From 6am onwards it got quite noisy when guests were heading down for breakfast and we found it hard to sleep in. We requested a room change which the hotel did for us immediately which was great. The room we were then allocated was less noisy but it was not as good as the initial room we received upon check in. Make sure you ask for a room at the back of the hotel on a higher floor and not one where the window is facing the hallway as a little noise can be heard as guests are heading out and slamming doors. Also we found the bathroom floor get quite wet easily although this is just a minor thing.

Other than those little minor things, we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone else. We can confidently say that if we had not stayed at HE3 our Hanoi experience would not have been as wonderful as it is the staff that makes this hotel what it is!!!! We have stayed at many 4 & 5 hotels previously and we never received such excellent service until now which makes those luxurious hotel look like a 3 star hotel.

This hotel has a very high standard of service. The staff are eager to please and will take care of everything that you would ask for. The hotel is located in the middle of the old quarter, close to several shopping streets and a 7 min walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. I stayed for 3 consecutive nights and was treated to a free airport pickup in a luxury car. As i was travelling solo, i was the only one in the car. Simply excellent service and a great breakfast included make this one of the most memorable hotels that i visited on my recent SEAsia trip.
