We stayed at the Sherwood Residence for a week in November and loved every minute of our stay. The units are spacious, clean and very comfortable. They have fully furnished kitchens, with a full sized fridge, washer & dryer (and a clothes line on the internal balcony), several bedrooms each with comfortable beds, air conditioner, a big desk and wireless access throughout, and a separate lounge area & dining room.
The included breakfast was delicious and ample choice: fresh fruit, juice, Asian soups, Yogurt, luncheon meat, cheese, 4 heated dishes, freshly baked croissants,Danish, sausages etc, plus you can get freshly cooked waffles and eggs just the way you want them…and freshly ground coffee…and at a charge they can make you a yummy Vietnamese iced coffee.
The swimming pool is wonderful and the staff poolside is very helpful.
In fact all the staff were very helpful (especially Hgoc at the front desk and Bang, one of the waiters.) We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was perfect, we also enjoyed cocktails as room service and again were very impressed.
There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk away and all the attractions are close enough to walk to, but there is a free shuttle bus and always a taxi waiting.
We will be returning!

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your most valuable and positive comments on Trip Advisor.

Your comments have been shared with Ngoc and Bang and they were delighted that they were able to make your stay one to remember! Thank you very much.

The entire Kitchen team was also happy to read that you have appreciated the choices of dishes they put together for breakfast and room service, to make you experience a small variety of local and Asian dishes.

Once again, thank you very much for your comments and your stay at Sherwood Residence.

With best regards from Ho Chi Minh City!

We booked an Executive Suite for six nights online through booking.com.

Upon arrival we were asked to pay (sign the credit card receipt for six nights accommodation). We had booked a two bedroom Executive Suite as we liked the look of the accommodation from the internet photos on booking.com (the Sherwood Residence website was not working).

Upon check-in we were advised that we had been upgraded to a three bedroom suite. As a couple we were not interested in more (than the two bedroom) space but in the quality / appointment of the apartment. The apartment we were given was not like the photos, was overlooking the building site next door and I remain convinced that we were given a Premier Apartment (a cheaper accommodation) versus the Executive Apartment we-pre-paid-for as the apartment did not look like the level of accommodation we pre-booked and paid-for on arrival.

The booking.com website says that internet service in an apartment is US$12 a day, we were asked to pay US$70 per day - didn't take-up the option.

Our opinion is that Sherwood use various tactics do their hardest to claw-back the rack-rate from the discounted rate offered on hotel.com.

We were charged for printing and scanning at the business centre.

'Breakfast' is an over-statement - food quality was abysmal.

We weren't allowed to check-out until the apartment was checked to see if we'd removed anything we shouldn't have - not helpful when in a hurry to get to the airport.

Room Tip: Don't pay until you see what you're being given versus what you expect and are paying-for.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your most valuable feedback on Trip Advisor.

Our biggest goal is to have all customers leaving satisfied, but on this occasion we have failed you, reading through your detailed description.

Your initial booking was for a 2 bedroom executive (124 sqm) non refundable rate, which we have charged from your credit card before arrival as it is stated in the terms and conditions for this special room rate and we have asked you to sign off the credit card slip upon check in.

On arrival, you have been the lucky one chosen to be upgraded to a 3 Bedroom premier (143 sqm) which is our biggest room with a higher price based on availability on that day.

Attentively reading through your description, I can assure you that we are definitely not using any tactic to get the rack rate back from our valued customers but that there must have been a mis- communication as the internet rate is 17$ not 70$.

The comments you made on breakfast, chargeable services in our business centre and inventory check upon check out have been shared and reviewed among our team.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize that we were not able to make your experience with us a memorable one and will be happy to personally welcoming you back on a next occasion!

Best regards from Ho Chi Minh City!

We are still sat here by the pool writing this review. We chose this for location and reviews and it was great for both. We chose a 2 bedroom executive room, which was upgraded if you call it that to a 3 bedroom premier room, which meant even more space. The room has exactly the same facilities as the executive room and was good throughout. All I would say on a personal note was the beds were/are very FIRM. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The bonus of having washer and dryer is great as we went through clothing due to humidity like nobodies business.

The food for breakfast (inc) was ok, bit repetitive but tasty enough. The room service was quick, good and efficient if required, priced very well too.

The staff throughout have been very very helpful and pleasant. Thank you

The hotels location is spot on, walking distance to most attraction or sites you wish to view. Taxis are available but to be honest a nice walk allows you to experience Vietnam even more. The hotel supplies a bus service too, which Is very good.

We really enjoyed our stay in Vietnam and would recommend this place to everyone.

Room Tip: Go for executive rooms, as price difference is small

the service is wonderful. the food is wonderful. we are a family of four. husband and wife, 4 year old son, and 22 year old nanny. we booked a 2 bedroom apartment and were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment when we arrived. having a kitchen and a washer and dryer has been invaluable, however we still have all the luxuries of a hotel. the fitness area is very well equipped. there is a sauna and a steam room. the staff at the front desk could not be more helpful. i loved the breakfasts and there was variety each morning. i really think this is the best hotel i have stayed in during our travels in asia. we have been travelling for four months now. the kids play area is also exceptional. there are exercise classes for adults and children. the movie theatre is a real treat! the only problem i see is that beer service is a little slow as there is a chiller instead of a refrigerator. love love love it here, never want to leave!!!!

We have stayed in HCMC for 2 week periods in since 2009, and we think the serviced apartments in Sherwood Residence are ideal for a longer term stay. The units have fully furnished kitchens, including washer & dryer, several bedrooms each with a big desk and wireless access throughout, and a separate living room & dining room. The included breakfast has everything you could want: fresh fruit, juice, usually 2 Asian soups, fresh salads, luncheon meat, cheese, 4 heated dishes, freshly baked croissants, etc, plus westen-style breakfast items, including a made to order omelet bar…and freshly ground coffee…a feast with much variety. The swimming pool is large and lovely, with a workout room and child playroom nearby. There is a supermarket and many eateries nearby-including Ngon, and there is always a taxi waiting if you don’t want to walk. The staff is very helpful & friendly; we’ll be returning again next year!

Room Tip: The upper floors have a nice view of the city lights.
