“Great hotel terrible breakfast”
Reviewed 24 April 2012 via mobile

Beautiful rooms with all the amenities and good wifi. The breakfast room needs a clean and a refurb and the breakfast is terrible. However, great hotel but don't pay for breakfast and go out instead.

We stayed in 506. It was small and we have requested a larger room (same price) for our return visit in a few days. We viewed a room on the 6th floor and yes...it was larger.

The room looked completely remodelled. Beds comfy.... nice furniture and decorations. Great rain fall shower head. All new fixtures in bathroom. Nice writing desk. VERY clean. Small window overlooking rooftops.

Funny thing about the bathrooms is the people who refurbished the rooms thought giants would be staying there. I am 5'4" and had to stand on my tiptoes to get a towel off the rack and the clothes line would have been IMPOSSIBLE to hang anything on.

It was a great hotel and look forward to my return to a bit larger room than 506.

Room Tip: Room 506 a bit small. Asked for a bigger room on return visit. Eager to please and showed us a lar...

The Lavender Hotel is clean and comfortable and in a very good location. Directly across from Ben Thanh Market. Much eating and shopping right outside the door. Rooms are small like most found in downtown areas of larger cities but certainly adequate in size. Very clean. Fresh duvets on beds. Minibar. Free wireless in room and two computers in lobby. Helpful and kind staff. The breakfast buffet was certainly large with many options but the food taste and quality was not our favorite of the many hotels we stayed at during our 15 day Vietnam trip.

Foot massages at the hotel were very good and only 10 dollars.

Room Tip: Air conditioning only works when you are in the room so you need to supercool the room when you arri...

The Lavender Hotel has a great central location and is very clean. But the rooms are the size of a shoe box, and way overpriced for the space of the room. While the rooms are very clean and include internet, TV, AC and computer, a twin room feels like a dorm room, and definitely not worth the room rate. Our room had fake windows (glass to hallway with curtains) - which certainly made it feel smaller. We also had serious draining problems in the shower. There have to be better options in HCMC for this price.

The Lavender Hotel staff are incredibly friendly. Visit the restaurant on the top floor for the best view of the city. Its an amazing sight at night. The restaurant staff were so welcoming and great company. Right across the road from the Ben Thanh Markets, it was the most perfect location to stay. Within walking distance to lots of tourist sites too. Thanks for a memorable stay!

The rooms are clean and neat, although there is not much of a view from the small window. Facilities include mini bar, safe, room service and free in room wifi.

The Ben Thanh Markets is virtually right in front of Lavender Hotel, and the hotel is within walking distance Tao Dan Park, Reunification Palace and to the west the "back packer" area where there are plenty choices for places to dine.

Although the room did not have much of a view the dining area on the eight floor does have great views of the city. Breakfast was included in the room and there was a reasonably good selection of fresh fruit, continental and local fare.

Lavender Hotel was a perfectly fine place to stay. It is a 3 star hotel trying to come off up-market and they do an ok job. The breakfast is included and is tasty- some authentic food and some continental food like toast and eggs. It is located right next to the major markets on a busy road. However we had a windowless room so no traffic noise. My husband did not like the windowless room- he felt like it was a tomb. I didn't mind it because at least it was quiet in there. The hotel also offers free shoe shining which my husband took advantage of. Rooms are very small which is fine unless you specifically want a big room- look elsewhere. Overall not bad at all though might be overpriced as there are a lot of three stars in the area where you'd probably have a similar experience.
