This was our fifth cruise with Pandaw River Cruises and as in the past we were not disappointed. The Pandaw crew are so caring and thoughtful and that is what has brought us back again and again. The beautiful teak river boats, great food, and interesting excursions have repeatedly made for a wonderful trip. We did a 6-day pre-cruise land tour that took us to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Varanasi prior to boarding the Katha Pandaw. It all added up to an excellent variety of large cities, towns, and villages. This ship held 24 passengers and 24 crew - hard to beat.
I would recommend this company to anyone looking for small expedition river cruising.

We really enjoyed our third cruise with Pandaw. As expected, the crew were highly competent, very friendly and keen to please. Every meal was beautifully presented and a delight to the taste buds.
Cabins are small but the beds are comfortable. If available, select a cabin towards the front of the vessel; they are quieter.
Because of the low water level we were transferred to a shallower draft “slow boat” for the last day’s approach to Vientiane. This was comfortable and an excellent buffet lunch was provided
We recommend Pandaw without hesitation.

I can't say enough good things about the Pandaw Cruise -- excellent service, food, the boat is beautiful and immaculately kept, and the staff are simply amazing. Our purser Justin and Ros in the dining room were especially friendly, but honestly every single person working on the boat deserves a special mention. The local guides Sarik and Hung were excellent, and the program included really interesting excursions to big cities, small farms, and everything in between. You do have to be reasonably fit to walk a few of the platforms to do the excursions -- requires a bit of balance, but the crew is very helpful. I can't recommend Pandaw highly enough and hope to go on another one of their trips.

I have been with this company 3 times before, visiting various parts of Asia. I have always enjoyed my experiences with this company and the trips have been first class. The boats are timber built and are beautiful to look at. The food is always of a very high standard and the staff are highly trained and very attentive. This trip however is somewhat compromised by the state of the Mekong river. Because of drought conditions and the damping of the river the first and last part of the trip had to be done by coach and a somewhat noisy 'slow boat'. To reach the Pandaw boat took the best part of a day, not a good start. One of the guests embarked the trip with a dreadful cold and after a couple of days our people went down with something similar, my wife included, and had to spend part of the trip in bed. Some were so Ill that had to seek medical help at various stages of the trip. You can opt for separate tables at meal times and I would recommend this at the beginning of the trip as it may stop this happening again. Ironically we we issued with medical masks on disembarkation ( probably to stop us from infecting the rest of Thailand) A memorable experience in more than one way.
