I stayed here for one day as part of a transit package with Vietnam Airlines through T and T tourist company. This is a nice little hotel and was a great place to spend our 14 hour stopover. Efficient, friendly check in. The room was very clean although did have a faint smell of vomit (detectable, but not enough to complain about) - the bathrooms appear to be newly refurbished and were in immaculate condition, nice comfy bed with pristine linen and good size bedroom with tv lots of channels. Fake window (just a window frame with fluorescent light behind it - opening into oa concrete wall) for ambience. Location is fantastic - very central. As I did not pay for this hotel i cannot comment on the value for money. We ate in the restaurant which was nice, but completely deserted apart from us.

Room Tip: I don't know if any of the rooms have a window, Room 307 has a funny smell (little bit like vomi...

The location is killer and the rooms were really clean, however, the overall experience of the stay is terrible.

Each floor has a little lobby/hangout area, so groups of people are socializing and smoking right outside your door. It's so bad that you can smell the smoke in your room. If it's not hotel policy to allow smoking in public areas, then they are obviously choosing to ignore it and let customers do whatever they want. Because of this, I will never stay here again nor will I recommend this place to anybody.

The Catina is a very nice hotel. It is located on a great street in the best part o town just beside the opera house.

The rooms are pretty spacious but I was in a room without a window which made getting up in the morning a bit difficult as it was so dark in there but I guess if you want a good sleep that is a good thing !

My only real negative was the tours they booked for me - you can read my reviews of the tours elsewhere but I would suggest strongly that if you do want to go on a bus tour that you don't let the hotel book it for you as the guys I went with were awful

All in all though you won't be unhappy staying at this place

Room Tip: I would avoid the windowless rooms but that is just me

The hotel is a great location for sites, shopping and restaurants. We booked the superior room and it exceeded our expectation. It's clean, staff here are super nice and helpful as well. If we come back to Vietnam, this hotel will definitely be our choice again!

We wanted to be in District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. This hotel is definitely in a great location for sites, shopping and restaurants. We loved the area. We booked with the hotel their car servcie to pick us up at the airport. After a long international flight we prefer to have some one there when we arrive. We were expecting a person holding a sign with our names. We looked and waited for 30 minutes and no one from the hotel came. I went back inside the airport and went to a counter that was selling SATSCO car service to the city. The woman was so helpful and called the hotel to find out they forgot to come and pick us up. The woman then put us in their SATSCO car service for only $10. What a difference to the hotel price of $35. Advice, take the airport SATSCO car service, don't book with the hotel. Our room was very comfortable & clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast. We ate Vietnamese food every morning and it was delicious. The breakfast staff was very friendly. When we come back to Ho Chi Minh City, we would definitely stay at this hotel. We just would not use their car service. We took a taxi back to the airport, no problems.

Great little hotel in a convenient area of HCMC.

The following points might be of interest to readers:

-The beds in the twin room are a little narrow--not a problem for me.
-The tub/shower is a bit high off the ground--might be a problem for someone with mobility issues.
-Door to bathroom/toilet is an open louvered type. Bathroom "odors" tended to stray out into the room.
-Breakfast was average but ample.

Overall, a good value and I would definitely stay here again should I find myself back in HCMC.

Room Tip: We had a room back in the interior of the hotel. No window, but it was nice and quiet.

We spent 4 days over new years - Decent hotel in a central location - within a short walk or drive away from good restaurants and attractions. We stayed in a suite and it was worth the extra.
Breakfast was decent - staff average.

Room Tip: Pay extra and stay in the suite - its worth the extra.
