This could be my favourite hotel I've ever stayed in.
When people say it's right on the river, it is RIGHT on the river. Sitting and eating breakfast (the best pho I had in Saigon) watching the barges cruise by was the best way to start the day.
And the speedboat shuttle into the city is brilliant, it takes only 15 mins and they'll take you back and fore for free.
The rooms are quaint and charming but super fresh and new.
The staff are amazing.
It feels like you're in some distant colonial outpost but in fact it's only 10 mins (or $7) from the city.

A French colonial villa on the edge of the Saigon Rive, with a free boat service bringing you to the heart of the city in 10 min. The hotel is new and elegant, but not located in the very city of Saigon and 45 min from the airport. This is an great advantage after a long day, to have the possibility to sit at the riverside and enjoy a cold drink watching the boats pass by as the sun disappear over the horizon far away from the hectic life of Saigon.

Probably just an isolated incident, but I got food poisoned from there restaurant, still an unpleasant experience.

Room Tip: Watch out for the mosquitos from the river during the evening

Dear RichardTA,

Many thanks for your kind review and I am glad that you enjoyed our peaceful and quiet location away from the madness of downtown Saigon. Also very happy to know that you liked our complimentary shuttle boat service.

I am very distressed and concerned to hear about your upset tummy and I can assure you that we have checked our food handling and storage procedures, thoroughly, and cant seem to find what might have caused it. This is the first time that we have ever encountered an incident like this. We prepare all of our dishes from scratch, which is why we don't do buffets like other establishments. Also, our supplies are delivered on a daily basis, in order to maintain quality and freshness.

I thank you for your valuable feedback, and we will continue to be vigilant on our food and beverage services and procedures. If you have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at yega.thiyagarajan@villasong.com

My husband and I stayed here for one night recently in the Art Suite and we seriously loved it. We had already stayed at the Park Hyatt in HCMH a couple of weeks previously but we preferred this hotel. It's situated up the river and the whole place is just very picturesque and immaculate. We spent a bit extra going for the larger suite as it was our last night and the room was really beautiful - however I am sure the smaller rooms would be equally lovely because what is most impressive about this hotel is the setting so a large room isn't essential.

Major plus points - the speed boat trip down into HCMC. A completely brilliant way to see the bright lights, and drop off point is a stones throw away from our favourite restaurant Saffron.
On the last day I was very unwell and the hotel kindly let us stay in the room until 6pm, we thought this was very generous of them to do so.
The hotel restaurant and daily breakfasts were also amongst the best we had experienced. Lots of choice on the menu.

Minor gripe, if you are going to provide a free mini bar I think they could probably be more well stocked. More water would be better and maybe some wine for non beer drinkers (the alcohol choice was limited to 2 cans of tiger).

Overall a brilliant stay - can't wait to return! Amazing hotel.

My gf and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and love every second of it.

Service: Very friendly and helpful staff.... They graciously helped us scheduling the complementary boat drop-off and pick-up and making reservation at various restaurants...

Room: While our room (#303) is relatively small, we dont mind at all... it's very charming and has all the amenities that you need to have a great time which includes complementary mini bar..
It's located on the 3rd floor over looking the Saigon river... I believe if you dont opt for river view, you get a bigger room...

Location: A bit far from the center of the city (20 mins away by taxi) but they provide complementary shuttle service to district 1 via boat... Miami Vice Style...

Breakfast: Great selection of food...

Free wifi throughout the establishment... The connection was spotty while we were there but I believe that's because they were having issue with the internet provider...

We would highly recommend this property to anyone going to Ho Chi Minh...

Room Tip: Room no 303 has a great river view (albeit it's smaller than the other rooms)

The level of service was on par with and at times exceeded that of 5 star properties I've enjoyed worldwide. Forgive spelling of names but Yerga, Max, Sam, ngoc and all the other staff were so incredibly helpful, engaging yet never intrusive; and I am terrible with names so thy left a lasting impression. Add to that comfortable and well appointed rooms, excellent massage service (best I've had in 3 years in VN, and the speedboat to dist 1, and I have no doubt that I will return. Much praise to the GM and staff for making a welcoming and comfortable home away from home!

We stayed at the Villa Song on our trip around Vietnam. We were given a very warm welcome by the staff who were extremely polite and couldn't do enough to assist us. Even though the Villa is out of the city do not let this put you off. The hotel runs a complimentary water taxi that takes you from the hotel along the river to Saigon. It takes approximately 15 minutes. It is a charming way to start your sight seeing day. They will also pick you up and bring you back to the hotel. Perfect and so easy. We loved escaping the noise and bustle of the city in the afternoon and coming back to the calm of the hotel and laying by the lovely pool - bliss! We ate both in the hotel restaurant and also took recommendations from the hotel for authentic dinners in town. All excellent. We would recommend the hotel to all our friends and would definitely return again.

We booked Art room n requested for early check in. We were surprised to have an upgrade to Imperial room when we arrived as we were told the Art room is not available, i guess maybe due to our early check in request. The Imperial room is luxurious, spacious n cozy. The bathroom is huge with a nice tub. A/cs are powerful .There are 2 balconies; the balcony facing pool is v small, not much privacy, but windy whereas the other balcony facing the river is bigger but quite hot sitting there. During our last day stay, we have requested for a fan in the bigger balcony n enjoyed more in the bigger balcony n we should have done that earlier. We have checked out the Art room too n the balcony is enormous (suitable for balcony lovers) but the room space is small.

Breakfast is fresh, delicious and proper. Its ala-carte style. We enjoyed sitting by the river n have breakfast every morning during our stay. Fyi- breakfast ends at 12pm.

All the staffs were friendly n helpful, they always greet us with a smile, especially the front office Supervisor- Nhu Pham. She can speak fluent English n good recommendation on places to go n iniatives to help us book dinner at other restaurants outside the hotel. There's another nice lady, Ngoc, she remembered my birthday n helped us to find air tickets to Danang n we appreciate that. On top of that, the hotel even paid for us the air tickets in advance n charged to the hotel bill, thumbs up! We felt the hotel has got many personal touches unlike those commercial hotels n felt very comfortable staying here.

The hotel is in a remote area n most of the time the taxi drivers can't find their way there maybe the hotel is new. However once we managed to get the old hotel name from the staff, we have no problem getting back.

There was once we were not able to go in to the hotel when we came back late coz the guard wasn't around n the hotel door is closed, there's no light at the front door, n we knocked many times at the front door, then walked to the back door- door is also closed, knocked again n no one there n we walked back to the front door again n kept knocking, finally a guard (looking sleepy n no apology) came out to open the door for us. When we informed the hotel about this the next day, they apologised n we were told to call the hotel if we can't go in as the guard may be taking a break to the restroom. So we informed the staff the next day we will be back late n to make sure the door is opened for us when we come back. This was the only disappointment we had during our stay there. Hope that the hotel will look into this n although its a boutique hotel but its quite a horrifying experience not knowing whether anyone around to open the door for us, for a moment unsure we are able to get into our room that night n its dark n quiet outside.

Dear Holidayqueen682,

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are very happy that you enjoyed the upgrade and that our front office team was helpful and able to provide you with good recommendations.

Breakfast for our hotel guests is actually available throughout the day (anytime at all that you feel like having it) as we believe that you are on holiday and should not be bound by strict timelines. Anytime is a good time for breakfast in our book!

We have business cards available for our guests, which has a location map of our hotel on it, but we are in the process of producing an even more detailed location map, which will make it clearer and easier for the taxi drivers to find us.

I am so sorry that you had an unpleasant experience with our security staff at night and I view this matter with the utmost concern. Even though we are located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, we do keep our doors locked after midnight for added safety and security. I have had a briefing with the security team and they will be more vigilant and alert for our guests who are returning to the hotel after enjoying a night out in town. We have also installed a door bell which will alert the night supervisor at the Front Desk in case the security guard is away on a rest room break.

Please accept my sincere apologies for this and I do hope we will be able to welcome you back when you are next in Saigon.

Best Regards,

Yega Thiyagarajan
