“Good place to stay”
Reviewed 20 May 2014 via mobile

We only stayed here 2 nights, on our way through to the north. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and polite, rooms well appointed, breakfast delicious, and interesting, suitable for Westerners as well. Can't think of one single critism at all. I thoroughly recommend this hotel particually if they are travelling through as it's near the airport. Located out of town, but Taxis are cheap and readily available.

Stayed here 4 days. Hotel professionally run and is in the business district. Seemed to be popular. Easy taxi access to the city about $4 US. Room neat and clean. Lots of eating options around hotel and a little less traffic. Pool is not resort style just a square small pool on 2nd floor but again we'll maintained. Pool bar not really active and area not conducive to sitting and relaxing. Restaurants good no beauty facilities whilst we were there as being upgraded. Gym ok to. This is not a family hotel kids would be bored. But a great option to use as a Ho Chi Min base. Staff very very helpful. If there was one down side smoking still allowed in eating areas.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a Hoi An Express package tour.

Extremely close to the airport, rooms were extremely clean and it had everything we needed. The staff were remarkably helpful and their English was pretty good by Vietnam standards, they tried their best at all times to go out of their way to help.

Never paid more than US$5 for a taxi into city for meals, shopping etc, very central location.

The breakfast was possibly the best buffet spread I've had at similar hotels at various places around Asia Pacific, fresh & good variety.

My only minor complaint which is very trivial, but the lifts were not A/C. Felt a bit weird leaving an A/C lobby, hopping into a steamy hot lift, then back into a cool floor & room.

One other point, the pool is OK but has no nice view. Didn't worry us & not unexpected given its location on a hi-rise in middle of a city, but if you want to stay somewhere lounging by the pool as a big part of your vacation you might consider a resort further out of town with a more scenic pool area.

We stayed here last week and both my mother and I were extremely impressed. The hotel is in immaculate condition and the staff were thoughtful and attentive. The bathroom was great and the room just big enough. The breakfast spread was fantastic and so was the seafood buffet we had for dinner on the first night. The only small negative was the location which was a little out of the way of the major attractions. This was not really a problem though as Vinasun taxis were plentiful, cheap and reliable.

I believe that service quality can make or break a stay in a hotel and the Vissai Saigon Hotel exceeded all my service expectations from check in to check out 4 days later.

Unfortunately my son and I got food poisoning on our first night from a restaurant near the hotel. My son was extremely unwell and housekeeping had to clean his room several times. The manager came to the room to check on us and offered to take us to the hospital; housekeeping brought us everything we needed; room service brought us freshly sliced ginger to make ginger tea to help settle our stomach and the staff were all solicitous as to our health until we left the hotel for our next destination. Thank you to all staff for making an awful start to our Vietnam tour as bearable as possible.

The hotel itself was fantastic. Our interconnecting rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Breakfast was also fantastic although I only enjoyed the wonderful range of food on my first morning - after I was unwell I could eat only plain toast and tea, sadly.

I highly recommend this hotel for its quality service, facilities and location. Just don't eat at Mon Hue restaurant 100 metres down the road from the hotel...

Room Tip: Ask for interconnecting rooms if you are travelling as a family. Very convenient.

my husband and I stayed in Vissai Hotel in April for 3 nights. Very convenient to airport and only a short taxi ride to most city attractions. Staff very friendly; buffet breakfast beautiful; room lovely, absolutely nothing to complain about. Noting other reviews saying that you have to leave your passports at reception on checkin...not true. We had made photocopies of our passports, just in case of loss, and we only had to leave a copy with them...not an issue at all.

Stayed three nights and the hotel was adequate very reasonable price, food average, felt insecure outside as security warned me to cover my gold neck chain as he said it may get ripped off me, excellent wi-fi for free, ten minutes to most attractions, visit to Ben Than market was good albeit the taxi driver taking us home drove away, after an altercation, with my mobile phone in his hand (long story) never to return.

Rooms clean and comfortable, food average and cheap.
Roof top pool was also good

Room Tip: choose high floor away from traffic noise

Dear Brendan G,

Thank you for your comment and we are glad you found our hotel very reasonable price. For all our guest security, we always advise them to keep an eye on their belongings as an advanced prevention on unexpected situations.

For catching a taxi to go somewhere, if you need assistance our front desk/concierge staff are willing to help give some direction or advices for your convenience.

We highly recommend to take one of popular taxi names as VINASUN since they are stationed in front of the hotel and have a representative (and many around the city ) to record when and where their taxi member(s) take the guests to. Kindly remember to take note of the taxi number so in case needed, it can be traced with reported information given.

Another way to help you ( in case you face difficulty on the way ) is that you can call the hotel front desk/concierge and ask them to speak to the driver to guide him in local language…

We hope this helps and look forward to having you stay with us on your next visit, if any.

Best regards
