This is an older hotel with nice architecture but expect some wear and tear. It is outside the tourist district so you won't be constantly hassled by street touts. It's in an alley off a main street which can be heard but is not annoying. The room has an older air conditioning unit which really cools the room. There is a bath with hand shower for rinsing. You should get a cool breeze on the roof top garden or you can sit in the courtyard. They bring us ice tea every time we sit there. Breakfast is from the menu. Small portion compared to Australia but about what you would make at home. We had the best nights sleep so far in Vietnam. The bed is so big I just about need a phone to talk to my wife. The only complaint is that the room safe is broken.

Room Tip: We are at the front so have a shared balcony where we can watch the courtyard.

This hotel is one of the most relaxing places that some one may come across accidently in a very crowded city. Once entered premises, the little hotel offers great charm & character & one may forget the surrounding chaos. Room 302 was quite spacious and had character despite being over designed as some of the hotels with Vietnamese style. Outside dining area was enjoyable whilst it had a decent F&B facility with a restaurant. Prices were reasonable.

Could not find a bath mat in the toilet. Rest of the hotel services were good but the breakfast need to improve.

The main drawback was its location being not closer to central facilities though it was just 15 mts. from the airport.

This is a really unique, interesting hotel in the Binh Thanh district with kind, helpful staff and great food! The architecture and decoration is very pretty. The room very comfortable. There is a lovely rooftop garden and a steam room and sauna. It is a great place for people to stay who do not want to stay in the city center. I think the front desk offers tours to the Mekong. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. Free wifi worked great. Their airport pick up was without problems. Whatever I needed help with, the staff would help me. Call a cab, exchange money, room service, etc. The owners speak fluent English and are nice people. I recommend this hotel and will stay here again!

We stayed at the Faifoo Boutique for only one night, but found it quite charming. We picked it because it is closer to the airport than the more centrally located hotels closer to the city center. The area around the hotel is not very interesting from a visitor’s perspective, but taxis are cheap and plentiful. It can be a little hard to find as it is about 100 feet down a small alley, but there is a sign on a building at the entrance to the alley. The courtyard in the hotel is very pleasant, and they have a rooftop eating area that is also very nice. The staff are very helpful, and the staff at the front desk spoke adequate English. Breakfast is custom ordered from a small menu selection. Since there are not many restaurants really close by we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. Apparently not many people do this, as they did not have a lot of the items we selected from the menu. Once we finally found something that they had it was fine.

Faifoo Boutique Hotel is a little gem. When the taxi pulls up at the end of a narrow alley, we had no idea of the little oasis at the end. Despite the constant traffic in the street outside, there was no sound of view of that from the hotel. The hotel was well priced, clean with friendly staff. We had a room with a balcony looking down onto the courtyard below and heartily recommend it. The owners have moved a traditional wooden tea house from Hue, reassembled it over the courtyard and redesigned the doors, windows and fittings in the hotel to match. Particularly enjoyed the pho soup for breakfast. When we returned to HCMC from the north we spent another night here at Faifoo. Only 6 to 9 dollars by taxi to the airport. only downside is location. You need to get a taxi for a few dollars to main area of the city.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony
