We booked this hotel for a 4 nights stay on our way to Danang and I must say this hotel highly exceeded out expectation in every aspects. This hotel only opened on 18 Dec 2011 and we grabbed their opening promotion for a Club Room and I must said it was a good decision. I am not surprised that this hotel has climbed to #4 on tripadvisor in such a short time.

Hotel pick-up at the airport was a breeze and we were switfly escorted to the hotel, which is located in the junction of District 1 and 5. That means it is around 10 - 15 mins by car from the hotel to the city centre depending on traffic (about US $2 - 3 per way) and to us this is no hassle at all if we want to visit city centre 2-3 times a day. Do not be put off by the location as hotel cleaniness and enthusiams of staffs greatly make up for this slight 'shortfall' compared to hotels located right in downtown area.

This hotel has a team of young Vietnamese trying their best to cater to your needs. Some might not be as experienced but their zealousness make up for it, always serving you with a smile.

The room is modern and slightly bigger than hotels of this range, the bathroom design will put lots of 5* hotels around the world to shame. Beautiful hugh bathtub, shower and state of the art toilet bowl with seat heater and water splash for rinising your [--].........if you know what I mean. I suppose this is quite common in Japan but it's my first time so pardon my exhilaration.

The Club Room is highly recommended for the price you paid (compared to Hyatt Regency in Danang which I will write in a seperate review) and it is a nice haven to be in after a day out exploring Ho Chi Mnh, sitting in the club lounge outdoor area enjoying the view and tasting wine and hot foods. By the way they have quite good hot food selections, different menu everyday though I am not so keen on their deserts which to me is not very appealing and not many choices. I also hope they could put the mineral / sparkling water out for self-service rather than having to ask for refill all the time.

We seldom choose to stay in a Japanese brand hotel but this is for sure a very good base on your next visit to Ho Chi Minh.

The Hotel Nikko Saigon is a beautiful hotel, perfect for the business or tourist traveler. I was there in January 2012. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The pool and spa areas are quite nice (though the pool bar is not yet up and running). The hotel gym is adequate. I had a suite with access to the Club Floor, which has a nice lounge with tea time and breakfast. The breakfast in the Club Lounge did not compare to the massive dining area downstairs with perhaps the largest breakfast spread of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel is in a very neautral color palette, which gives it a very calming vibe. The bathrooms have stand alone showers and separate tubs, which are nice for a soak.

This is a perfect hotel except that the location is a bit off the beaten path from what most visitors to Ho Chi Minh will seek. Prepare to take taxis (which are, like most other things in Vietnam, quite cheap).

Two notes to the management as (very) minor notes for improvement. (1) Put hand towels in the toilet room with the sink. There is a sink to wash hands, so there should be a towel to dry them. (2) Put hooks in the suite bathrooms for towels. There is no where to hang towels (or anything for that matter).

Saigon is such a hectic city that it was nice to escape to the peace and quiet of the Nikko. We upgraded to a Club level deluxe room with access to the afternoon tea/ apperitifs and private breakfast lounge as a treat and with the great opening specials it was good value. The bed was comfortable with a beautiful bathroom with separate shower and designer bath tub. Staff were efficient and friendly and the club lounge staff were very helpful with great shopping tips. Mr Ken gave us travel tips and the view from the lounge was excellent. We did walk into the city centre but the taxi was only $2.50 US. Fashion street with all the high end shops is on Nguyen Trai not far from the hotel so our walk into the city centre was past great shops all having sales. Shopping heaven! Great pool too and even in Winter it was nice for a swim.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Club level rooms if you can get a good price - it is worth it for a treat.

Very new hotel, minimalist design that makes the huge lobby look very cold and the corridors and rooms gloomy. the color palet of the rooms ( ours was an executive suite ) was only in various shade of greens. The construction looked poorly done ( the hotel is a bit more than 2 month old, part of the suite smelled moldy, the plywood of the doors shows under the paint etc...
nice executive club longe on the top floor with good city view and nice swimming pool/ gym/ spa complex.
the food at the chinese restaurant was one of the best we had during this trip ( but they still serve shark fin soup).

What a great hotel in a great country. First time stating here and initial impressions were very high since the moment the taxi pulled up outside. Greeted with a nice welcome by the bell boys, but a downer was how long it took to check us in. Opening the doors to our two deluxe bedrooms was like a walkway into hotel heaven, as the rooms were laid out very cleverly, and the design of the bathroom was excellent, considering the bath tub and the shower were separate, and the toto branded washlet was separate also. Japanese quality hotel with amenities to suit. The pillows are large and comfy, large 42" flat screen tv, and even stationery provided in the drawer in the round work desk. Bathrobes, an umbrella and a safe, along with slippers are provided in the wardrobe. Complimentary bottles of lavie water is provided daily. The colour scheme of the room and the hotel is very neutral and modern. Complimentary sauna services and a pool can also be found on site, with a spa also located within the premises. Attached tO the hotel is NowZone, a shopping mall. Breakfast is outstanding, with a beautiful layout and extensive options to choose from. Absolutely loved our stay here, and would definitely stay here again! Worth every dollar. Good job, nikko hotel!
