We were at the ton duc thang one, and were really disappointed. Nothing but stinky fakes. Seriously, everything smells like cheap poisonous plastic. Found nice copy of tods mocasines for 70usd starting price. Even if we had bargained to 35 would've been too expensive if you can find no name nice shoes for 15 usd.
We usually either buy the real thing (back in Europe) or no name (Asia).

We loved Saigon Square. After visiting both other markets in Ho Chi Min we found ourselves going back to Saigon square a few times.

Pros : Its airconditioned so if you go there after tours etc it's a lot more pleasant on hot days ( especially with kids in tow )
Better quality products , the quality was better here than at markets
Not so much hassling , stall holders were happy to let you look without hassle
Money change here We felt safe and was easy
With kids along the toilets here were ok 10 cents to use happy to pay as cleaned after each person ( upstairs )
If you to the shops along the back rows a lot have set price which is sometimes easier and cheaper than haggling we found. It also gives you a good idea of prices your first day.

Cons- check any chargers electrical stuff before purchasing we had to try 2-3 I phone chargers before found one that actually worked

Gave Bin Than a miss based on TA reviews and opted to come to these 2 markets instead. Very cool, relaxed and hassle free visits. The vendors were very friendly especially with our kids and I think making the effort to speak and greet them in vietnamese really helped.

Good value kids clothes, my husband got a northface down vest for $25 it looks identical to mine and it is a real one...very hard to spot the fakes?!!

Enjoy!

It has been a very interesting town with shopping, cafes and zoo n botanic gardens which r nearby.. though is a messy town but many good hotels are adjacent to each other .. u can even get a 2 star hotel with the comfort of a 4 s star feel..
