My 2 sisters and myself stayed here a few years back. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Upon checking in they discovered that it was my twin sister and my birthday so a bunch of red roses was delivered to our room. That was an unexpected suprise! Our room in the older section of the hotel was beautiful and well appointed but with no view, which was no problem to us. Be sure to request a room in the older section. Breakfast every morning was an absolute feast and kept us going through to the afternoon. The choice of food was fantastic. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Spent a couple of nights here before a 9 night tour. What a lovely hotel...the room was spacious and had antique phone and lovely furniture. Air conditioning was very good as was free in- room internet connection. Breakfast was varied and the fresh fruits were lovley. Egg station chefs very chalming and couldnt do enough. Location was brilliant. a 10 min walk to Saigon Square where the best shopping was...a few metres down was the markets. The exchange rate in the hotel was excellent..I got around 19,500 Dong per Australian dollar...same rate as outside money changers if you could find them.... In Hoi an only got 19,200 from our hotel Equitorial so Majestic hotel gives the same rate as the bank/money changers . We went to May restaurant around the corner for happy hour drinks and tapas snacks...very trendy place ..food very nice . If you like beer the Majestic has a happy hour on the roof top but not for cocktails - but well worth a visit anyway just for the fantastic view and band that played 70's numbers.
Would def stay at this hotel again if I were to vitsit Ho Chi Mihn again without a doubt.

Room Tip: Pool view room was nice.

I once stayed here about 5 years ago on Business, and this time I took my wife for a quick visit to Ho Chi Minh City.

Still a great Hotel. OK, not cheap by Vietnam standards, but still well worth it in my mind. The room was great, the staff outstanding and the open air buffet dinner (about $42 / head) with free wine was really good. We ate far too much!

If I was to be critical of anything, it would really be nit picking!

I will certainly be coming back.

And great to see Madame Fleur still 'ruling the roost' at reception. Lovely lady.

Very nice historical hotel in HCMC. The staff were helpful in all ways. They organised us a bespoke day trip to Cu Chi and Mekong Delta that I can highly recommend.

The rooms were nice enough however the pool is really small

The hotel may date from the 1920s but rooms, service and décor impeccably comfortable. Our room was large & cool, with a huge comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. We particularly liked the rooftop bar, which is pleasantly breezy with a great view of Saigon and serves a large range of cocktails. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of cheaper options in HCMC but this was well worth the money for the comfort, history and especially the location.

This was very disappointing.
I'd booked this because, to me it's a historic hotel in the centre of Saigon, right by the river, with a history.
Straight away the attitude of the check in staff was one of indifference.
The room was ok - except for the smell of damp!
M Bar on the top floor has a very good view of the city - and a good band!
Sky Bar on the old part of the hotel (before they built the new wing) was OK - but not air conditioned - so very hot for breakfast.
Building noise (they are now building two towers to add to the hotel (22 floors each)) was a problem during the night - mentioned this to reception who weren't interested.
It's a shame. On our trip through Cambodia and Vietnam we have only had first class, friendly service. That certainly wasn't evident here.
Very disappointed.

This landmark hotel is located on the most posh street of Saigon, down by the riverfront and is an ideal setting for any city visitor.
The decor is art deco 1960's and needs some refreshing.
The lobby is grand and imposing, they have full valet and concierge services. Old world style and finesse is still evident here with umbrellas provided in the rain and frequent salutations from the staff when passing through. Great breakfast on the terrace, decent size room and all the accessories are branded with the hotel logo which is a nice touch. Comfortable bed, quiet. Fast free wifi. Small pool.
A great choice when in Saigon.
