We had 4 fabulous days here and we were so happy to find we had only to walk down the sweeping stairway onto the street and we could walk to the river, the restaurants and the Benh Thanh Market. We couldn't get lost because nearby is the tallest building in the city, the Bitexco Financial Tower with its helipad, so it was a great location marker! Our room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were excellent, and the staff were lovely. The Duxton is not too expensive for such a central location. If there is a downside, the pool, while very clean and welcome, only has a few sun beds and no shade except at the 2 nearby tables. We would definitely stay there again and can highly recommend it.

Stayed here as the first stop on our Asian explorer trip as part of a group of 6. The hotel could use some dedicated non-smoking floors. The location is outstanding and the staff are even better. In the end Mr An knew what when and how we would have our drinks depending of the time of day. The concierge team helped with all confirmations of tours and transfers. Will come back.

This hotel is well situated, it is close to shops, the market and local attractions. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Try the all you can eat dinner, the seafood and meat is cook fresh as requested by you and the cost is great value.
The bar in the foyer is a nice place to past the time

easy check in with efficient lobby staff always opening doors for you with a smile. view from room was dirty backs of building but that didnt bother us. the location of this hotel is perfect, make sure you get one of the hotel maps as its very easy to follow when wanting to go somewhere. our room was decently sized and clean. when turning on the air con the smoke smell from other rooms would come straight through, quite disgusting. the house keeping was very hit and miss when it came to towels, some days only leaving two, when there was three of us. you get bottled complimentary water every day but there's also many shops close by. everything is in such easy walking distance from the duxton. breakfast had an extensive selection and was very nice. best yoghurt ive ever tasted. staff at breakfast looked very unhappy, no smiling. Except one young gentleman who always greeted me with a smile and made sure i had my coffee and asked how we were. one morning the lobby music was so loud it actually woke us. if you want to book tours do not use the hotel tours desk. the lady could not answer what we were asking. go across the road and up a couple of blocks to the saigon tourist centre, great staff and you get discounts, especially for more than one person and the more tours you book the cheaper it gets. theres a fantastic bookshop diagonally across the road from the hotel. for dvds when leaving the hotel turn to your left and walk to the end of that block and they are on your left round the corner. the pool here is a lap pool but big enough for a refreshing dip. as a non smoker i would not stay at this hotel again which is unfortunate considering its location.

We stayed at the Duxton a few weeks ago. We have two small children. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent with a great range of local and Western cuisine. The room we had was what you would expect from a city hotel. The location was great and you can walk to many of the main attractions in the city.

Stayed here for 4 nights for the beginning of our Vietnam journey. Hotel position is world class. Close to all the museums, river, nightlife and bitexco tower. Room was basic but a good size for the city and we were overlooking the swimming pool. Breakfast was good and a great egg station. Staff were very helpful when trying to sort out airport transfer. All in all will definetly stay there again.

Stayed at the Duxton for 3 nights and was very impressed. A really nice hotel in a perfect location close to the sights.
Room was nice but the view wasn't; however, we were not that bothered as we didn't spend too much time there anyway.
Breakfast was fine with a reasonable selection.
I used the gym once and although not that big was sufficient for a quick holiday workout.

If you don't fancy going too far for food (our choice on day one with jetlag) I'd recommend the Lemongrass Restaurant which is out the front door, turn left and it's across the road on the right. The restaurant is on the 14th floor and is great for having a look around - the food is also very good.

Top tip - vast majority of the taxi drivers do not speak any English so take a hotel business card with you which you can show the driver when you want to get back. Generally no need to agree a price as it is on a meter but we did get stung once - watch out for the meter making a jump (paid 170K for a journey that should have cost about 80K). Difficult to argue with the language barrier but there you go.

Don't bother with the pink cathedral (sorry forgot the name) as nothing worth looking at and if you're from the UK you're used to much better...

Good hotel, recommend it
