“Everything great - except wifi!”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

We loved this hotel for many reasons.
The room was lovely and big and it was a nice touch getting free fruit and water
Nice and quiet
Very helpful staff who spoke great english
Amaaaazing breakfast!! It really was a highlight

Only thing that let it down was the terrible wifi! We'd stayed in much cheaper hotels who had exceptional wifi. I don't know if our room was in a dead spot or if it cut in and out everywhere.

That's the only negative though.

I stayed there for 1 night on a business trip. The breakfast was amazing. The room was neat and clean. Although there is no view from the room, as the hotel is in the centre of the town. Would recommend this hotel for Ho Chi Minh.

This hotel is a great choice if you want a central location in District 1. Our room was very well appointed. The staff were courteous and helpful. There is free wifi (spotty at times). The breakfast buffet had a great spread. We were walking distance from the war museum. Overall a great value and we enjoyed our stay.

My friends and I were all very satisfy and happy with the services of staffs and the rooms of the Norfolk hotel. The rooms are consider huge, clean and pretty new. Our booking also includes the daily breakfast from the hotel. I must say the breakfast spread may not be very impressive but more than sufficient choices to choose from. Most importantly, the food are fantastic and delicious which left a very good impression to all of us.

The location of the hotel is also consider very convenience as it is within walking distance to many attractions and night market. The surrounding areas are also full of shops and food stores, restaurants.

The ONLY point which we are pretty unhappy about the hotel is the arranged transportation from the Airport to Hotel charges. The hotel did not confirm via email to us in regards to pick-up and appear in the airport to fetch us. However, upon reaching the hotel, we are told the charges for the pick up is 2 Millions Dong (About $100 USD) for 2 vehicles. That is 5 times the cost of hiring a taxi from Airport to the hotel. Hence, if you are staying in Norfolk, please do not take their Airport transfer.

Cheers!

Room Tip: Corner suites are large rooms with balcony.

Clean, centrally located, good staff, decent breakfast.. View is not spectacular but all round good hotel at an excellent price.

Main improvement include installing shower curtains in the bathrooms. If the plan is to get a family room then expect the bathroom to get flooded once every one is done taking a shower

My husband and i just spent 3 nights in this hotel and were delighted with both the excellent service and the brilliant location. Our room was on the 4th floor at the front and didn't mind the everyday hustle and bustle outside. This is why you come to HCMC! The rooms are well appointed and of a good size. Really enjoyed the comfy armchair as i enjoyed the view out onto the main street. The service at breakfast is 1st class particularly when Hien is looking after you. The choice is fine for breakfast and supplies always being topped up. The location is brilliant as you step out the front door, turn left, walk 1 block and you are at Ben Thanh Market. The Saigon Square 1 market is also only 1 block away whilst the Saigon Square 2 market is up behind the Parkson dept store. The walk to use the pool at the Norfolk Mansion is quite refreshing and not really that much of an inconvenience. Used the airport transfer service and was very pleased with the service. Overall a very relaxing stay and will return.

Room Tip: Whilst we enjoy very quiet rooms usually our room on the 4th floor at the front did not present any...

The Norfolk is a first class small hotel with very comfortable, modern and spacious rooms, excellent service and a very good restaurant where I ate on two evenings as it was raining one night and I was too tired the other after a long day of touring. It serves an excellent breakfast as well. the location couldn't be better, literally half a block from the famous super expensive Rex Hotel and a five minute walk from the Opera House and other major sights. My one complaint is that the restaurant allows smoking, which wasn't a problem anywhere else I went inVietnam. Overcall though, a real bargain!
