We have spent only 2 days in Saigon. On the 1st day we went out to the city center for a walk. On the internet we saw a map to see in Saigon (crazy new and ugly name this Ho Chi Min is so I just use Saigon). This museum was one of the 10 things to see. Outside there are 2 airplanes and an old Citroen (Poirot style). inside you could learn about Vietnam's history. The ticket price was 1.5 dollars. It worth the price.

The War Remnants Museum was one of the better exhibits I visited during my travels. Could have been expanded more, there's room for it, but what was there was enough. Every story has at least two sides. I had to remember this was a side I had not seen before. Other than that, it was a bit chilling to see the old war machines and the effects they had on the country of Vietnam. The photo exhibits were the most moving emotionally and probably caused me the most feeling to see. Well done!

Apparently one of the ‘must do’ things in HCMC... eh. It’s a good collection of photos spanning the war and it has some interesting machinery outside.
The collection lacks decent background information on the conflict.
It’s cheap and a good reason to head over to District 1 and spend an hour or so.

The museum was well-curated with photo exhibitions and artifacts coming with informative and well-presented texts and explanations. It is comprehensive and detailed in covering many different aspects of the War such as the civilians during the war, use of chemical weapons, etc. The museum is good for history buffs and others interested in the Vietnam War but can be a bit dry for those less interested.
