Stayed here for three nights. The location is very good as it is close to tourist sights and Bui Vien nightlife area. The rooms are small but adequate. Noise from the Go2Bar reaches the building until late in the evening. Breakfast is simple (egg, coffee, toast). I would say that this place is average for the area and I would have given the place 3.5 stars if that was available since 3 stars seems below average (although it is called average).

Check in and check out were fast. Staff carried bags to the room. There's a new spa below the hotel. Not sure if it is related to the hotel. There were plenty of customers in the spa and I never observed any problems with the spa.

Due to cancellation of a Mekong Delta trip by Sinhtourist they booked us into the New Sunny as it's just a couple of steps from their office. Despite asking for a quiet room (the first room they took us to reeked of tobacco smoke) we hardly slept all night due to being surrounded by karaoke clubs who played music loudly and badly.
It was a real shame, as the hotel was very clean, the bed comfortable, though the bedroom was very small. The shower and toilet were also very clean and worked well. Breakfast was limited, freshly cooked omelette, fresh bread rolls and coffee, but adequate.
It's location is both good and bad - good as it is central but bad because of the noise. We were on the 5th floor towards the back but this didn't help. Would recommend heavy duty earplugs to anyone planning to stay here.

Room Tip: As high and as close to the back as possible

The rooms are quite small, but fairly new and kept clean. We visited this hotel a couple of months ago with some friends and the breakfast was poor, it was literally tea or coffee, then a choice of a one egg omlette, one fried egg or one boiled egg with some stale bread. Now, the breakfast is even worse, you get a choice of tea or coffee, then a choice of either one fried egg or one egg omlette with stale bread. To be honest, there is just no point in waking up for breakfast, go somewhere else and pay a few bucks for something decent. $17/night is good value for money but they disappointed so much with the breakfast. Housekeeping are also a bit of a nuisance, always lingering around in the hallway asking if you want the room cleaned everytime you leave the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room furthest away from the street, can get a bit noisy at night.

The hotel itself was fairly clean, other than ants crawling everywhere. Upon arriving we were sent to our room. When we went in we found that someone else was staying there. A lady came down shouting for us to leave. I believe she worked there. We were given the executive suite for the night. We booked 3 nights. When we returned from our trip that day our stuff had been moved to another room. Our 3rd of our stay. When we went in it absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke. It was disgusting. When we complained we were told to put the aircon on for half an hour & open the window. After complaining some more they moved us yet again. Not a nice experience. I wouldn't recommend that any stays here. There are better alternatives on the same road.

Room Tip: The misic goes on until 06:00. Karaoke allllll night long! If you're still hoing to go ahead &am...

This hotel is brand new and thus everything is clean, pristine and modern- not a bad deal for $15. The room had modern TV, air con, fridge, good hot shower and despite not having a window was perfectly spacious. As it is in the heart of the backpacker area I felt this hotel was very good value for money, and with it being so new perhaps of a better quality than you might find elsewhere.

Receptionists were very helpful and friendly. One in particular went to a lot of trouble to direct me to the museums and drew the directions on a map.

The only downside of the hotel is that being so central the noise levels throughout the night are very high- this was surprising given that my room didn't even have a window and it was at the back of the hotel away from the street! For this reason I would suggest getting a room at the back of the hotel as noise in a room at the front with a window could be unbearable.

Overall it was a very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back of the hotel to reduce street noise levels. Rooms without windows are arou...
