“Nice corner room”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014

Excellent location and staff. Felt safe and w we lcome. Had a great time. Love the various vietnamese soup, bread and pate at the breakfast buffet. Great place for street view and to see new year firecracker. Pay little more for the big room with balcony. It's totally worth every penny. Will deffinitely be back.

Good location, walking distance to main attractions such as Ben Thanh Market, Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral and Post Office etc...Train station is also nearby (about 20 mins by taxi). Lovely staff and very helpful. We stayed 2 nights in room 209 in January 14, decent size and clean. Breakfast on rooftop had good varieties. The swimming pool was very small though about 10 m x 3 m. The gym equipment did not work however. Street traffic and noise from air con be a bit of problem for lignt sleepers. We needed to catch an early train and our breakfast was packed ready to go in the morning. Overall, a nice hotel with good service.

We stayed in a Premium Double Room for our first few nights in Ho Chi Minh City. The driver which picked us up from the hotel (organised with Huong Sen) was lovely. He gave us some information about the city and he was such a lovely welcoming person to our Vietnam adventure. The hotel itself is ornate. The double bed was huge. And the breakfast was very adequate with a good selection. There's a very good money changer: Huong Long, which is a few doors away (the reception will point you in the right direction). No commission and excellent rates. Much better taking Aussie dollars and exchanging them there. The only down-side was the street traffic when trying to sleep. It's not something we are used to. However, many hotels in District 1 would have the same problem. We also stayed in Ward 28 (approx. 20 mins out of District 1) and it was quiet, but the downside was travelling into District 1.
The massage spa upstairs was one of the cheapest we came upon. And it was nice and relaxing. Definitely worth doing.
Overall, it's a very good hotel, and a nice entry point into HCMC.

Room Tip: For a quieter room, I would suggest one that doesn't face the street. The downside would be the...

We stayed for two nights in January. Room 214 is spacious and pleasant. The en-suite is a little cramped, but clean and smart. All the staff are polite, smiling and helpful. Breakfast is on a roof terrace, and is well above average for Vietnam, though the fruit juice is poor. Wifi is decent in most of the hotel.
I had a massage, which was well done, but in a room that was too hot, and by a therapist keen to chat to her friend in the next cubicle. A fairly minor fault though.
The hotel is very well located in this smart city, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

My daughters and I stayed at the Huong Sen in early January 2014 and were very pleased with our stay there. When I booked the room I had indicated that we would need an extra bed for only the first night (we stayed 4 nights) and when we arrived they knew who we were and were all ready for us with the extra bed. We also had a late evening flight and they accommodated a 6 pm check-out for a very nominal charge and then stored our luggage. The breakfast buffet was ok, nothing great. The tub/shower is a VERY big step into, so not ideal for elderly or disabled. Other all, very nice hotel, with large clean rooms

Centrally located in Dong Khoi just near the Municipal Theatre/ Opera House. Smaller, local hotel with very friendly and helpful reception staff. Quiet, older style large room and large bathroom. Breakfast on Sunday was a little disappointing as by 8.45 am the hot food had virtually all disappeared and wasn't replenished. The next day was a little better. Small hotel pool on rooftop. Good value for location.

Room Tip: Suggest ask for a quiet room which probably means you won't have view of the noisy street life b...
