Can't ask for more considering the price. I booked by Agoda and they didn't have the New Wing room which I booked. So they upgraded me to the New Wing Suite. Thanks to EMI who was working the desk to make sure it was sorted out quickly and with no fuss. Breakfast was just what the doctor ordered for a Saturday morning before my flight home. It's walking distance to the Opera House and great restaurants. I travel here often wish I found this place earlier I normally stay at the Pullman, Nikko so I'm a tough customer..

Our first trip to Vietnam and the hotel sent someone to meet us at airport. This was appreciated. We stayed in hotel from New years Eve to 6 Jan 2014. We had two rooms in new wing and found the suite to be quite roomy with separate seating area with a view ( over the city) Which although not great was better than most.Hotel is within walking distance of virtually everything.
General impression is that the hotel was clean. The same cannot be said of the hallways on the floors.Ours was not cleaned for the entire duration of our stay. Room cleaning service seemed to be under staffed or inefficient. They only arrived after 5 pm on most days. Guest bed in second room was super hard and most uncomfortable. Also hallways were very gloomy.

Pro's
Reasonably good location in district 1
Room pricing was good.
Suite room was big enough with two separate toilets. Separate seating area a big plus.Room could do with a bit more privacy though. No doors and glass doors to bathroom for "full viewing "
Most staff were friendly and helpful.
My wife and daughter enjoyed the spa and was absolutely thrilled with the facial.

Con's
Breakfast can be improved. Refills don't seem to happen.Battled for three days to get an egg boiled correctly. They eventually did though.
Hall cleanliness substandard.
Gym very poorly equipped.
NO pool .We were told in writing that it was under construction ,but could find none .
No activities for kids.

A nice touch was the hotel sending a representative along when we left for the airport to ensure everything went well. The hotel sufficed for our needs on this trip .
In conclusion we would however consider the Sheraton,Caravelle etc which was even more centrally located albeit pricier should we return on future trips.

Great hotel to stay if you're not looking to pay too much for luxury. Clean rooms, superb and friendly staff and very accommodating. Rooms are nice and clean and very modern with all the conveniences you'll need for you travels. Good location to roam around district one and take in the sites without paying ridiculous prices. Only bad thing i can say that the hallways in the upper floors outside the rooms are dark. They seem to turn down the AC during the day also in your room while cleaning up, you have to turn it up to be comfortable once you're back in your room at night.
would definitely recommend to friends for travels. Super friendly staffs. oh and BTW, no pool, but great spa, great great spa for very cheap prices.

My friend and I had a 3 nights stay here, decided to give it a shot after reading up about the new wing. We arrived on New Year's Day and were greeted with a very pretty-looking unconventional Christmas tree, welcome drinks and warm friendly smiles from the staff all way through. We were given a room in the new wing and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Made us feel right at home. It was easy getting in and around of the hotel and out as the location was perfect; cabs were readily available right outside. We even took a nice walk down to the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Post Office. I must say though, the highlight of this stay was how amazing this one particular situation was handled. An unfortunate incident happened to us on Day 2 and with the help and advise from Vincent at the front desk late that night, we decided to make a trip down to the police station to lodge a report the next day. Come Day 3, not knowing what to expect, we gathered at the hotel lobby ready to make the trip to the station. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that the front desk did take note of our incident and arranged their Guest Relations Supervisor Miss Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hang to make the trip down to the station with us so that she could help translate and make the process easier. It was a real blessing that she came along as the process at the station took way longer than expected, plus the police officer wasn't exactly the nicest and easiest person to deal with; even with Miss Hang relating the incident most of the time. She stayed very professional, composed and patient throughout the whole time when dealing with the officer. We finally managed to get the report that we needed. At this point, we were absolutely relieved and grateful. If it weren't for Miss Hang taking the time out and going that extra mile, we would've been totally clueless. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at The Royal Lotus Hotel. With such commendable staff - the lovely Miss Hang, the knowledgeable Vincent, the dedicated Bell Captain and the rest of the friendly hotel staff, it has been an absolute pleasure. Will definitely be back!

We had a 3 nights stay in this hotel, chanced upon this hotel on agoda and decided to give it a shot. The room we had was in the new wing and was very pleasant and comfortable. The hotel staff from the reception to the bell boys were very friendly, they make guests feel at home. There's one particular incident that happened during my stay and i had to make a police report the next day, the guest relations supervisor Ms Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hang was very helpful with translating Vietnamese with her fluent English and was really friendly and went the extra mile to help us to solve the issue. It was a pleasure meeting her and the rest of the hotel staff. I had a very pleasant stay and will definitely be back to stay whenever i'm in Vietnam.
