Beautiful Saigon Hotel
Ranked #80 of 459 Hotels in Ho Chi Minh City
Reviewed 6 November 2012

On arriving in HCMC we were met at the airport by the friendly pick up driver from the hotel, all this i had pre booked earlier as i couldn't be bothered with all the hassle of scamming taxis etc, this only costs around $20 or so and is well worth it.
This hotel is ideally situated in the heart of a very chaotic looking Saigon and is central for just about everything nearby, and we in turn were warmly greeted by the gorgeous Hahn and her very efficient team on arrival, and they just couldn't do enough for us, the young lads sprinted up the stairs with my cases within minutes and the check was just as Quick.! Going up to our room which i had requested on the top floor away from any potential noise namely the "Crazy Buffalo" night club. But, to be honest after a "Hard days" trekking around the sprawling city of Saigon you are too tired to notice anyway, and the room we had was very compact complete with all the little mod cons attached, with a very welcome mini bar and a shower/toilet combined which i thought was a great idea.!
I have also noticed some reviewers have complained about the rooms being too small etc, but what they don't realise is that space is of a premium here in Saigon and the Vietnamese people have had to utilise what they have efficiently and the Beautiful Saigon Hotel is no exception either and lets be honest here folks do we all come to the city of Saigon to sit in a hotel room all day? And this room was very clean and the view if I'm being honest was well..different But with double glazing you hardly heard anything below, as for the bed well, lets just say i slept like a log with more than enough pillows than I've ever seen before.
Going for breakfast was also very different due to the lobby being transformed into a mini dinning area, and what a great way to meet fellow guests as your sitting right next to each other too, and the service here is equally as efficient with the ever attentive staff attending to you with a menu which had a good range of food for every one's taste, tea, coffee, fruit juices, fresh fruit etc, in all honesty it sets you up for the mornings exertions sightseeing. There is also the computers next to you here but, i never used them so i can't really comment on their speed.
As for booking trips here i did use the hotels main operator TNK Travel, and as they're main office is just around the corner i thought " Ideal" just perfect, the prices also reflected my choice too which are seriously good value for money. We went on the full day combined trip to the Cao Dai temple and the Cu Chi Tunnels which cost the princely sum of $8 each talk about value here, we also did a full day to the Mekong Delta, costing about much the same. The lovely Hahn who is incidentally the "Boss" here advised me about the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Show and not only did she explain things but also got us the combined tickets which gets you into the show and afterwards you go for a slap up buffet at the restaurant next door to it and what an enjoyable night too.
Now on leaving the hotel you immediately walk straight into a maelstrom of human chaos complete with over 5 Million scooters not including pushbikes, all vying for space and they take no prisoners either you really have to be careful when walking about, if in doubt the hotel will call a cab and it's there in minutes, just watch the cabs uptown when coming back as they seem to mysteriously develop a phenomenon called "Going in a circle around town" and ripping you off, keep you're bearings at all times. As for scammers well, it's Saigon folks and there are no rules applied here so be warned.! The streets outside this hotel are a buyers market regarding food/drinks and are very safe too in fact you can eat and drink all night and spend very little, we just sat outside and watched the World go by with a cold drink in one hand a nice experience if any, and if you ask where the Beautiful Saigon Hotel 3 is you will find it's just past the crazy buffalo and here you will find an authentic Indian restaurant serving some really decent grub, in fact the street here is just full of restaurants a gourmet delight..!
Yes, i can honestly say the people here in this hotel were seriously friendly and very helpful with any questions i had from the gorgeous Hahn to the young laddie who rushed outside with an umbrella for my wife when it was raining, i would certainly return here in the future, and with good room prices like this is ideal for the budget traveller, and when we left to go up to Hoi An the goodbye's were very genuine like we had been there for years instead of five nights, it's something i wish our hotels in the West could employ instead of the £/$ sign prevailing before guests, try a hotel in Spain or whatever and they don't even look up at you on check out. As for the Beautiful Saigon Hotel what a colourful experience the lovely Hahn and her staff were, top marks..!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view on the top floor and to the rear, if you're a light sleeper...

This nice hotel is located in a very busy street in Sai Gon, right next "backpackers street", so you have plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, at excellent prices. The hotel surroundings are quite safe (day/night), near you have exchange houses, a pharmacy and lots of 7/11or 24/7.
The rooms are small, but enough for 2 people and their luggage, clean and up-to-date. There's a minibar available, and 2 complimentary water bottles, each day, as well as tea and coffee. The hotel has also a safe box, and A/C,and the very friendly staff explains you how to work with them. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms and lobby, for free. They also have computers.
The shower/toilet room is very, very clean and they provide you a lot of toiletries. The only disadvantage, but not bad at all, is that you don't have a real cabin shower or curtain, so when you take a shower you will put water all over the bathroom.
The staff: wow, they are so nice that you feel almost at home. They have a relaxed attitude, which is very good for me, and they like to be sure that you are ok with your stay.
The breakfast is served in hotel lobby, you have a menu with options (all of the ones we tried were delicious) and you choose whatever you want.
The hotel also makes arrangements for tours (Cu Chi, Mekong....), and the travel agency they work with is right around the corner.
Definitely I will recommend this little hotel, if you want a clean and nice place to stay, with wonderful staff. Enjoy the busy and crazy Sai Gon!

We only had one night at this hotel, but found it to be perfectly suited to our needs.

It's located in a convenient position near all the main sites. The room wasn't huge, but very nicely kept and was comfortable.

The staff were helpful and friendly.

We would stay here again if we returned.

Good value for your money, good location, but i little bit noisy at night. The rooms have all you need: A/C, TV, PC with wi-fi, hot water, mini bar and they are confortable and clean...they are also small, but you are only there to sleep right?
The only problem is that the neighbor is full of bars and discos, so at night you could listen to the music until very late, even thought that we were in the top floor.
Service was good and friendly, but it seems this is a constant in Vietnam, the nicest people!

Used this as a base to start the trip in Vietnam off, so had booked the airport pick up which was a great touch knowing you had someone waiting for you despite any flight delays. Travelling by myself, great location in the heart of the backpacker district so it was really easy to go out and meet others. They weren't pushy at all with the tours, so I actually ended up booking everything outside of the hotel...but the staff were still more than happy to give recommendations on anything you asked for.

Breakfast and wifi included, couldn't fault either. The room I stayed in didn't have a window, and that would be the one negative of the stay. Would happily stay here again (though would probably ask for room with a bit of natural light!).

We stayed at this hotel on our first night in Vietnam and had booked an airport transfer for $20. It was wonderful to see the man with our name on a board after such a long flight. The hotel is narrow and one room across but typical of Vietnam. The beds were firmer than we are used to but again this turned out to be typical of Vietnam.

The bathroom was well appointed with nice toiletries and the fruit platter was a welcome surprise. The complimentary bottled water was also much appreciated. We had a kettle in our room but couldn't find anywhere to plug it in so used the one in our daughters room next door.

Our room had no exterior window but still had a window to the hallway. We found the lights in the hallway a little annoying as we like to sleep in total darkness but that wouldn't worry everyone. The room was compact but fine for us. We were surprised to find the shower on the wall so that she toilet got wet but we got used to it and managed to keep the towels dry. The floor drained really quickly so we mastered it all quite well.

The concierge was very friendly and helpful especially when we locked the safe before setting our own pin.

The breakfast in the morning was one of the best things about this hotel. The staff clear the entire foyer and set up small tables and stools for guests. There is an extensive menu and they bring juice, yoghurt, bread, jams, omelets a d tea or coffee and then watermelon to finish. They also offer free wi fi and have a tour desk in the foyer.

There are ATMs next door and bars across the road. We were enthralled by the street stalls and locals right outside our door and were p,eased to find that we were a short walk from the markets.

We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again ourselves.

Room Tip: Suggest paying the little bit extra for the deluxe room instead of the superior.

I stayed a couple of nights here with my Mum. The rooms are small but clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast included was surprisingly good- you order it off a menu. Its also in a busy part of the city. I would stay here again.
