“Fabulous Luxury”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a 4 night package with the other nights at sister hotel Pilgrimage Village in Hue.
Vedana is isolated (ie no restaurants nearby to wander to) but it doesn't matter. Enjoying the time out from the bustle of Vietnam cities is perfectly done here. The over water bungalows are VERY spacious, the beds are very comfortable (super king), balcony is very large also. The toilet and shower are private but outdoors and bath/sinks are housed in over sized bathroom. The pool area is beautiful, only negative would be the safety of the decking around the pool. Loose wooden boards and exposed nails is NOT ideal for children or adults prone to falls. This is the only area that needs upgrading/re-doing so as to avoid a law suit from injury!!

Restaurant has good variety of food/snacks/large breakfast buffet. The restaurant lacks a little soul and the menu is "hotel" prices because of where you are.

Beautiful all round accommodation and experience, fantastic staff and the complementary yoga/tai chi at the spa in the mornings is in the most beautiful spot overlooking the lagoon! A must for a treat in Vietnam..

Room Tip: Go all-out and get an over water bungalow the sunrise/sunsets are so pretty..

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in an over water villa and loved our time here. We arrived from Ho Chi Minh City, so we especially appreciated the calmness and serenity of the Resort. We were aware that the location was a bit remote which was part of the draw for us. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the large bathroom was luxurious and well equipped. It was great to sit out on the huge deck in the morning with a coffee, and watch the fisherman. The breakfast buffet was one of our favourites during our stay in Vietnam. There was always a huge amount of food, plus we could order from the cooking station. We had the typical Vietnamese noodles for breakfast a couple of times - really tasty. The dinner menu had sufficient variety so that we were not bored - although it might become monotonous if one stayed more than a week or so. We took advantage of the free bikes and cycled up to, and through, the local village. It was a memorable experience for us and the local children were a delight. The shuttle into Hue was appreciated, although we only used it once - preferring the tranquility of the Resort. Dai and all the staff were always pleasant and always helpful. Wi-fi was a bit spotty and there were a few times when the electricity went out for short periods, but that didn't hamper our stay in the least.

Room Tip: An over water bungalow is definitely the way to go, in my opinion

we stayed there two nights in an over-water villa in march 2014. the whole resort itself was really nice and quiet. the villa was nice also, however a bit used, and you could see small damages everywhere. unfortunately i did not feel safe in the villa. the shower and the toilet was outside of the villa, which was very uncomfortable.
the breakfast was really great, however the restaurant was expensive, and they have added 5% tax and 10% service fee at the end, which made it very expensive. unfortunately they had really funny idea how a simple cocktail (pina colada) should look like and taste. it was horrible not only expensive.
the staff was nice and wanted to be helpful, however they did not really speak/understand english. we tried to explain the staff at the reception that one biscuit was expired in the minibar, but they did not understand it at all. on the other hand they really wanted to be polite, and sometimes it was toooo much (answering 5th time to the question "how was your sleep" is just not what i want).
i have to admit, i am not picky, i always prefer simple things, appreciate the imperfection, but it was too expensive to not to be perfect.
in the beginning i was very excited to go there, but i do not think i would go back again.

We had a lovely stay at the resort. Thankfully we had beautiful weather so we were able to spend most of our days relaxing by the pool. I would recommend the Aqua Bungalows as it means you get limited creepy crawly visitors. It is also just lovely to sit on the balcony with a lovely cooling breeze. The bathrooms were huge! The staff are so eager to do all they can to help, they were really wonderful. You are given bikes to get around the hotel which is novel and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious every morning, as was lunch and dinner! I would recommend sticking with the Vietnamese food though, just because it is so fantastic!

We used the spa once, had a massage and body scrub, which was nice. The best part was actually the jacuzzi though!

We also did day trips to Hue (which was free from the hotel), and Hoi An (which was organised by the hotel). These were very interesting.

We spent 4 nights and had the most amazing and fantastic time. The staff are very helpful and efficient. The hotel location is very good and restful. This is the ideal hotel to retreat to for a well deserved rest. We stayed in the honeymoon pool villa which was excellent in every way: secluded, big pool, beautiful views and very good facilities.
Food at the restaurant was good and good value for money.
I cannot wait to go back to this hotel again.

We stayed at a over water villa and it was beautiful.

All hotel staff are very nice and helpful. You get a private butler to assist you with information etc.

You can also get a cycle and go around fishing villages near by or you can go to Hue using the hotel shuttle bus.

What a memorable trip to both of us. In spite of the distance from City Center and the Airport, everything was beyond expected.

The villas are located in perfect privacy within the wood and mountain. Excellent view to the marvelous Tam Giang Lagoon with clear sunset and sunrise view.

If you prefer spending most of the time inside resort, this is the place to stay with your loved one.
