My room was very nice and comfortable, and the location was excellent (close to the beach and lots of food and drink options), but what I'll remember most about staying there is the hospitality and warmth from the people there. Tini, the manager, was especially wonderful.
Immediately after I booked my room, she sent me an email to make sure I knew how to get there and to let me know I should feel free to ask her any questions. Great first impression! But that was just the beginning. My first morning there, she recommended a local breakfast place that she often goes to herself. Rather than just pointing me in the right direction, like many others would, she actually walked me there and sat with me until my food arrived, just to make sure it was perfect.
While we were waiting, she told me what she was eating for breakfast that day and asked if I'd want the same the next morning. I'm a fan of trying what the locals eat, so I said sure. When I got back to the hostel after finishing my breakfast, she actually insisted I taste her breakfast just to make sure I'd like it for myself the next morning. Little things like that really make you feel like family when you're so far away from home.
Throughout my stay, she went out of her way time after time to make me feel welcome and give me great recommendations, and every staff member I interacted with at the hostel was so friendly and warm. The people there took what would be a very good hostel experience and made it a truly excellent one. Thanks!
