“Okay, good”
Reviewed 2 April 2013

The hotel location is around 10 14 km away from city center and all around of the hotel is construction sites. But inside of the hotel is good. Good designed and commodious rooms they have. Big size lcd tv and big and clean rooms are satisfying. The breakfast is weak and inadequate for the hotel..

Dear Readers,

I stayed in this Hotel for around 6 Nights and 5 Days. It is one of the best priced Hotel in Baku. Especially for its Fitness Centre facilities.

Though it is a little far from Airport and unfortunately they do not provide free pick up from Airport, but still for the price you pay everything is perfect.
Staff is excellent and very courteous.
Breakfast is also good except for the Fruits. Attendants in the Restaurant are very good and humble.
I can say that I recommend this hotel if you have a long stay. Location is not very good (a little far) but still light on pocket.
Thanks!!

Reviewed 16 November 2012

I stayed at Ariva Hotel for 7 nights in November 2012. The hotel is well priced where it represented excellent value. The hotel is new, where the rooms, furniture and facilities where in great condition. The guest room was (very) large, with some residual smell of smoke. There is a small swimming pool that I used for one day, and a small exercise room with some equipment -- treadmills were modern and in good condition. There was a jacuzzi that was empty -- I expect they would have filled it up for me if I had asked. Location was about 15 minutes away from the Baku CBD (without traffic, which could be bad), but convenient to my meetings. There was an interesting and local market a few minutes walk if you wanted fruits, vegetables, and other foodstuff. The downstairs restaurant was very local, without a menu (at all, in any language) -- food was Azeri cuisine, and of OK quality, I would recommend taking dinner outside of the hotel. Wifi internet was working great for the first 4 days, but after then, would be intermittent, which was annoying. Room had interesting decor -- a bit like a love motel with gaudy furniture (but clean). Another issue was that there was a luggage shelf that they placed strips of sandpaper, I suppose to prevent luggage from slipping -- the sandpaper was so coarse that it could damage luggage, where my aluminum luggage was especially prone to nasty scratches. I had moved my luggage to the floor one evening, and placed a towel on top of this luggage rack -- when coming back to the room, the cleaning lady had moved my luggage again to the luggage rack where I received a few new scratches. I spoke/motioned to her the next morning where this stopped. Final comment is the front desk -- they tried to provide good service, were reasonably friendly, and had adequate levels of English -- however at check-out, it took them about 20 minutes to produce the final invoice. The next day, I received a phone call where they mis-calculated the invoice, and requested that I come back to the hotel to pay the remaining amount -- I was still in Baku, as I shifted over to another hotel for meetings, and was able to do so a few days later -- but overall, a bit of a strange experience. Overall, I'll be happy to come back to the Ariva Hotel given it's great value. But don't stay here if you are a tourist to see Baku's sites, as the location is off -- it worked for me as convenient for my business.
