This hotel continues to make one feel welcome and this trip did not disappoint. The breakfast fayre is wonderful and set me up for the day. The lift/elevators are in need of an upgrade as they are very slow, but the rooms are very good, are well insulated from the hussle and bussle of central Dhaka traffic. Will definitely stay here again.

I have stayed in this hotel for more than 150 days during past 3 years. Main reasons were cost (half of Westin) and convenient location (30-45 mins to both Motijheel area and Gulshan area).
Rooms at 3 & 4th Floor are worth staying at, other floors contain old rooms with old furniture.
There is no Wifi in room, so just buy a small wifi router and that will solve this problem. Hotel can also provide one for a nominal charge.
Room service is good, food is average, transport service is also cheap (since you can hire a car from Dhaka Tours for 2500 BDT per day).

I never had any issue in this hotel, will recommend it for its lower cost and better location.

As an expat and the son of a Diplomat who has grown up and lived abroad all his life, I find it quite difficult when I go back home to Bangladesh as the living standards of middle-class families are far below what I am used to. The toilets in flats, the water supply and electricity problems, stomahc bugs from drinking water and the heat are just unbearable for me.

Whenever I visit Bnagladesh, I stay at the Pan Pacific.
The hotel is situated in central Dhaka and you can easily mix among regular people and catch a CNG when you are outside. The rooms are spacious and nice. Things provided include towels and robes, TV , AC, fruit basket, safe, tea bags and sugar , mineral water every morning, and wired internet access as well if youa re a GHA member. The beds and pillows are also comfy. Oh, and they provide lot of things in the bathroom that include, toothpaste, toothbrush, combs, shaving stuff, soap, etc.

I usually book my room with buffet breakfast included. And, the breakfast is just amazing. It's so delicious and filling that you won't need to eat lunch. The restaurant meals are expensive on their own and for dinenr I usually head to the nearby Bashundhara shopping mall and eat at their food court floor.

Only bad thing is that you are not allowed to bring food or drinks from outside in the hotel. I love juice and need glasses of it everyday. Wish they would change this policy.

Room Tip: Book early. Become a GHA member. Book rooms that include buffet breakfast.

Stayed here for 4 nights on business. We had two room types. The standard room was apparently upgraded recently. It looked slightly better than the more expensive suite. The suite has two rooms. 1 room for sleeping and an adjoining lounge which is great for working and meetings. The room, lounge and bathrooms are very old. Furniture and bathroom fittings look like they have last been updated about 10 or 12 years ago. The linen is stained and shows age. Hotel is fairly clean. Matresses need changing. A few more english t v channels would be a pleasure. The bathroom taps and the toilet are desperately in need of change. New shower heads and if possible, a walk in shower would bring this hotel into the 21st century. Having said that, the service of this hotel is wonderful. The staff are willing to help at all times and are very friendly. The breakfast buffet has a huge variety to suit all tastes. For dinner there a few options in the hotel. Food outside the hotel is much cheaper but we have been told its safer to eat in the hotel. There is a bar in the hotel which has an adjoining night club. No wifi in the rooms only in the public areas. This is a big drawback as one needs to be online to get any work done. The lifts are really aged and the buttons sometimes overlap so you end up stopping at one or two extra floors on the way to your floor. Overall a lovely hotel that needs upgrading urgently. Staff are wonderful and helpful. Service is excellent.

Room Tip: Choose a room not facing the streets. These rooms are noisy all the time due to traffic.

Nice large rooms and lots of refreshed freebies everyday. Buffet style restaurant for breakfast. Additional restaurant for evenings by the fountains. Remember this is a dry country for the most part so the booze is ridiculously expensive to buy- £10 for a can of lager and £45 for a bottle of wine

I've stayed at Pan Pacific Sonargaon on two occasions and the hotel is good. Great facilities, well maintained and very cosmopolitan.
The hotel is located in a very busy part of town and is sometimes difficult to get to due to traffic. The hotel provides great amenities and comfort.
They could do with better trained staff who could understand better English and converse as the hotel gets a lot of foreigners.
Overall good comfort, security and facilities.

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the 7th and 8th floor

The Pan Pacific is located perfectly in the city. Although it is not brand new, what you can experience everywhere it seems to be the best deal in town: Rooms are spacious, well maintained, fast internet is for free, bathrooms partly new remodeled. The hotel offers several restaurants, which I can all recommend. Room prices are for all of this quite reasonable.
Best thing: the pool is large enough to really swim, the gymn is well equipped with Precor dreadmills and even offers as sauna.

Room Tip: Higher floor facing towards the pool.
