“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were all friendly, even going above and beyond to help us when we had a mix up with our itinerary. The breakfast has lots of variety. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night too and dispite being a bit worried when we were the only ones in there, the food was nice. I did order bottled water though and received a glass of water which was warm (presumably it was boiled local water). The air conditioner worked well and the room was fine - comfortable bed and pillows and nice shower. The location is so great - close to a variety of eateries, shopping centre with all you need and walking distance to several tourist attractions. The only reason I would consider staying somewhere else is that the hotel doesn't have a swimming pool. If you stay elsewhere though - you will have further to walk.

Beautiful modern boutique hotel in the heart of BSB. The staff members convey a sense of hospitality and professionalism that is warming and welcoming. The breakfast was fair--nothing special but satisfying. Only wish there was a gym.

This great hotel was an excellent choice. I like modern hotels, which are centrally located and in this hotel I got both of those. Friendly service, personalised attitude and great location. Rooms are impeccably clear and well-fitted for a modern traveller. There are a number of excellent amenities. Breakfast is varied and above standard for a three-star hotel. In one word, nothing to really complain about. One last detail - there is a postbox just outside the hotel.

The Brunei Hotel was a pleasure to stay at. Great service, quaint rooms with modern features, and all with in walking distance from many of Bandar Seri Begawan's tourist sites. My first night there was an issue with my room, as the room was an adjoining room. The people in the room next door had a baby that stayed awake all night. The next day before breakfast, I informed the hotel staff of this, and whilst I was out sight seeing, they found me a new room, that was not adjoining, and moved all of my things so that when I returned, I was able to go to my new room. Such great service!!

Room Tip: Ask for a non adjoining room.

It says "established in 1957" on its front wall. This hotel could have been refurbished many a times. And for the better it gas been. The interior looks neat and modern and comforting. Rooms are fully equipped with wall mounted LCD TV, fridge stocked with fizzy drinks and snacks (with compliments from the hotel) , lemon grass scented bath soap and hand lotion/ cream.
Wifi is free and you are allowed to use as many device connection possible. Having an IPad, a smart phone and a lap top computer makes 3.
The staffs (local ) are really courteous and helpful.
Got a room facing the river and the view of the river market from the bedroom was a real pleasant experience. The view in the early morning from the bedroom window, one could see a hive of activities. Motor boat laden with produces and life stock were transported to this market and they cluster around a large man made concrete steps from the water to the land. (Docking bay)

The grand mosque is just down the streets and another with real gold plating minaret is just a stone throw away.
You couldn't go wrong picking this hotel. I will return one day and this will be my temporary shelter.
Cheers

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the market.

A modern hotel which is located in the centre of Bandar Seri Begawan, The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with free internet access & complimentary mini bar. The room I occupied for my 10 day trip had a great view over the market and water way. I would say the best thing about the hotel though is the service received from all the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them especially the restaurant staff.
I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to explore Brunei.

On this central corner within the rather quiet city of Brunei, the whole selection of attractions are literally walking distance. The markets are across the road. The huge mosques are just down the street. The ancient Chinese temples are two doors down. Transport to the Water village is also across the road. The hotel itself is very clean. The breakfasts will set you up for a great day. The rooms are really well appointed and quiet. The staff are tremendous help with directions and transport to the night market is free in their very cool minibus. I felt so comforted and relaxed on this two day layover from a trip to Europe. If you have the time, book a stay, just to sample the water taxis, but in two days you can also get out to the forests and experience the vast natural beauty kept as if no-one has touched it. I will do this again.
