We recently travelled to Dubai via a 14hr stop over in Brunei.

It didn't hurt our hip pocket, but you paid for a clean bed, shower/toilet and return transfers to the airport. After a 7hr flight, you really do want a bed to rest up and a shower for the long haul to Dubai so its worth it. I wouldn't stay longer though...but it has a really convinient shopping centre next to it with a excellent burger spot to refuel.

Ideal one night stopover hotel. Too far from the city. Large supermarket handy nearby.
Clean and tidy. Average price

Stayed there for two nights 2th Feb 2011-3rd Feb 2011, two rooms with a connecting door. The rooms and the toilets are clean. The internet access is not good from the rooms, have to go to the lobby for better reception. On the check out day, when we came back from shopping at 11.45am, we could not enter our room using the key card. We were told, the card has expired even though earlier we have told the staff that we want to extend our check out time to 1pm. The staffs were not that friendly and one woman at reception who had a real bad attitude- not courteous when talking to us.

Stayed for two nights recently. Decent and spartan accommodation. Staff was courteous and obliged to the request for late check-out at no extra cost. Room was clean; bed comfy!!! Free coffee, mineral water and some basic toiletries less toothbrush and paste. All these at an exceptional price of BND52 per night with free Wireless internet access. However, for older folks, do note that there is no lift in this hotel. So do consider the lowest level in your request. There is a supermarket nearby and plenty of places to eat within the vicinity. However, it is slightly off the main areas of Gadong and will entail some travelling. Buses ply through the nearby main road which is flat at BND1 regardless of distance. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

Chose this place because we can walk to work. The hotel furniture is a bit old. There's no lift so if you have a heavy luggage, leave it at home. But the room is clean. If it was or is a smoking room, it could smell. Once, a room I stayed had a leaking air conditioner. So the carpet is sometimes damp.

You can find 2 good Chinese restaurants downstairs in the same row of shops where the hotel is. Also there's a pastry shop at the other corner and a few Malay food shops. They are pretty good as well. The best part is that Supa Saver supermarket is just opposite the hotel. You can get almost anything you need there (especially imported stuff).

I enjoyed my occasion jog through the Scout campsite at the back of the car park behind the hotel. If you prefer a less challenging jog, you can cross the road and run all the way through a residential area and turn left. Run all the way to the water tanks (uphill) and you can smell the fresh tropical jungle fresh air.

No alcohol in Brunei, period.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is a clean, well maintained place but is rather far out from town which requires transportation to get back and forth. The hotel runs a shuttle into the city center a couple times a day and there is a city bus that you can take to get back to the hotel however it stops after 6:30 PM. If you want to go to the night market, make sure you have arrangements for a ride back to the hotel. Taxis are not abundant after dark and it is a long walk.

Wi-fi in the rooms is sporadic at best. You can get good reception in the lobby but that is a hassle and there is no place to really set up and use a laptop. The restaurant next door has desktops for 3 BND a hour if you don't have a laptop.

The rooms were cleaned each day and most of the staff was helpful- with the exception of one woman at reception who had a real bad attitude. The breakfast is not worth the time as there are many eateries located nearby that have good food and coffee. I paid 65 BND for a single which is about as economical as I could find.

Overall the hotel is OK. I wouldn't go there just for a stay but it suffices for a short visit to BSB.

We stayed 5days in this hotel. Best place to all the destinations. Travel by bus is good option and cheap. Lot of buses to all the destinations from hotel. Bus stop just opposite to hotel. Just ONE BND to all places (blue color Bus No.51). Beware bus will not ply after 6.30pm. Even some pvt cars will offer u to drop at nearest place but dont pay more than ONE BND. Dont try taxi u wl pay more than expected. Its a 15mts walkable distance to Jaya hyper malls from hotel. Its safe and return by walk from Malls by evening or if u feel hard just call hotel person, they will pick u up and charge u 10 BND. Rooms are clean, good and silent airconditioner and cool. Worth for the money we paid but some of the rooms WIFI was not available hence we have to take laptop to lobby for usage but no charges is applied. Breakfast is not upto expectation by coffee and tea are good. Finally happy stay and friendly people.
