of calm and tranquility in hot dusty but vibrant Phnom Penh. set on the bustling riverside this 16 room ultra modern chic hotel hits all the right spots. great rooms and restaurant. roof top is the place to be for happy hour and star gaze as Phnom Penh's trendies sip cocktails. food is amazing on the roof too.

Room Tip: check out the seafood BBQ on the roof top as well as their selection of specially imported wines. a...

My second stay at the Quay Hotel, certainly ideally located for business in Phnom Penh, previously my company had always put me up in the casino but this hotel is located right on the river, has good food and the rooms are much more stylish. If you are on business in Phnom Penh and want a business hotel, close to all of the action and in the heart of the city with a more personal service. I now recommend The Quay to all of my friends jetting into Phnom Penh.

after traveling around Cambodia, this was our dream hotel. clean and friendly and with specials available such as free pick up and all in one food and drink packages, this was just what we wished for.

the air conditioned lobby was always peaceful. a few metres from the bustling riverside it was always nice to go back inside.

the roof top was our favourite place, although we loved our over sized room with balcony, big flat tv ( just go and buy great dvd's for a dollar up the road).

our friends had the back room. no windows maybe but lots of light and ultra cool style and for the price...wow

Room Tip: book direct as lots of offers available especially in the lower season

The room was small, & there was a strange smell from bathroom, not sure if it came from water or taps.
At first I thought, maybe it was normal for here, but having stayed in many other locations in Cambodia ...certainly not.
On a positive note great roof top bar & friendly staff.
But you can get a lot more value for your money.

Staying here for 2 nights in room 16 (top floor facing the lake) was an interesting lesson in what I can and cannot deal with from a hotel.

I can deal with a half-renovated room which has some modern touches and some 70s style doors falling off their hinges. I can deal with a wonky ceiling on which anyone over about 4 ft would hit their head (a result of being in the pitched roof space). I can deal with a lack of insulation in said roof and air-con that switches off when you leave the room (saving energy, I know) turning the room into a sauna. I can even deal with curdled Hollandaise sauce at breakfast (how hard is it really?)

I can't deal with the way they make the bed; base sheet too small to cover the mattress, no cover on the quilt (who sleeps under a quilt in Phnom Penh? Did you check the weather?!). They fixed some things the second day but these things should be basics. I also couldn't deal with Durian-scented shampoo (ever smelt Durian? Stick your head in an open sewer in 40 degree heat and you'll come close), nor the black carpet and dim hallway which results in stubbed toes when entering the bathroom.

For the price, you should do much better than this place.

Stayed here with the family whilst visiting Phnom Penn. Stayed in a huge room at the front of the hotel with a balcony. Contemporary design, nice relaxed atmosphere, very clean and tidy. Fantastic views from the balcony excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner, helpful friendly staf. No complaints

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony.

Read some of the negative reviews on here shortly before we arrived and wondered whether we had done the right thing. Glad to say we did - had a great stay here.

Hotel is located next to the river, so great views if you book a river view room. Although this is overlooking a very busy road, you don't get any road noise in the bedrooms. Also within easy walking distance of the main attractions.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming - always available to help and make sure your stay was as good as possible. We booked a top floor suite with balcony overlooking the river. This is absolutley superb. The room is really well proportioned with a sitting area and also a full long desk area behind the bed. Sitting area and bed are separated by a curtain - good to leave this open so you wake up with dawn breaking outside. From the balcony you can then view the locals exercise classes along the front by the river - treated to a display that was a cross between Ti Chi and sword play demonstration.

Bed was really comfortable and the bathroom is excellent. Large walk-in shower and a separate bath as well. Everything was very clean and well serviced as well.

Didn't have dinner in the restaurant, but judging by breakfast I doubt you would be disappointed. Breakfast was really good, and not a buffet for a change. Everything freshly prepared and cooked. Presentation of the dishes was very good, as was the taste. Try the Cambodian options for breakfast - absolutley delicious.

Has the benefit of a roof top bar as well. If you are staying in one of the top floor rooms this does mean you get a bit of noise from the bar at happy hour. But that is soon resolved by relocating to the bar! Serioulsy, not a problem as the bar was pretty quiet by about 20:30.

Great hotel to use as a base for exploring PP. Nothing like the negative reviews on here either.

Room Tip: Upgrade to one of the suites.
