“Comfortable, Affordable Luxury in Phnom Penh”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

Was staying here between Nov 22-25 (4 nights). The room was cosy, air-con working, clean and for a very affordable price of less than US$25. Daily given 2 bottles of purified water, bathroom good size (however, bathtub needs a little looking into), TV, lighting in room sufficient. Lighting along corridor however, a little dim. On the whole, we slept well for all 4 nights. Honest staff -- one of our group member dropped her iPhone along the corridor, was picked up by a staff who turned it in to the Manager. We reported the loss at 0900 hours and when we return to the hotel at about 6pm, the phone was waiting at the Reception for its owner. The Restaurant serves very good local and Hong Kong dishes -- Chef came from HongKong and maintained the original standard and flavor. Do try the Special Wanton Noodle -- loads of ingredients i.e. char siew, fried and normal wantons, bean sprouts, shredded chicken, sliced pork -- truly Special!!! Staff were friendly and professional.

Was here with a group of friends, each day it was a joy to come bk to the AC rooms and the cotton sheets...we had free wifi and it's pretty fast compared to Malaysia.. Staff was friendly and helpful as well... AC in room leaked all over the wall and wet the carpets... Was thankful that it cooled properly...

Having stayed here 3x, the experience would depend on whether you happen to get a good room onot. I have stayed with friends before and some of them have had problems with faulty room locks, toilet, hot water, air con. Me- i never had any problems and always had a good nite's sleep. Price is very reasonable though you have to catch a taxi to get anywhere as its not within walking distance to the main markets etc.

I stayed here for 5 nights. Corridors smells of a cigarrete smoke. The room was clean and well-lit. I had difficulty with the key card twice. I had to go down to the receptionist and ask them to check it, which is inconvenient specially when all you want is to lay down on the bed after a very long day. The hotel staff helpful and friendly. I did not like the adjacent restaurant- the service was slow and food was not great.

When I'm in Phnom Penh, normally we book one night in Le President before we leave the next day. This is my fifth time staying here but this round, very disappointed. No hot water from the heater on the 3rd floor. Check with reception, answer was 'nothing can be done'. So, I asked, what about next morning, because we will be checking out at 6.20am and need to take bath before leaving. He kept repeating 'nothing can be done'. This hotel actually I have no complain until recently and they even has dust mites. We were biten by dust mites and caused itchiness. Please clean the rooms maintain the heater properly an the air cond condenser very noisy. We were not allowed to change room because no rooms available.

Room Tip: Check rooms before booking.

If you are looking for a good budget hotel that is clean and tidy with a nice cheap restaurant I would recommend this hotel to you. Friendly staff with ok English. Nice food although traditional at the restaurant but safe eating and menu now in English. Well located and not far from the main sites on a took took. No pool but a nice bath and shower. Fourth stay here now and will stay again although a pool would be nice :)

This is a nice hotel to stay if you want comfort and yet don't want to pay the 4-star hotel prices. It is in the middle of the city and accessible to lots of restaurants and shopping areas.
