“A good Hotel!!”
Reviewed 16 January 2012

Naga World Hotel is ideally located, close to almost all the areas, including the Riverfront. The hotel is mainly suited for travelers who are interested in CASINO. they have 24 hour CASINO which is crowded almost all the time.
Well, I have been staying here regularly, but had never put my review here. It would be unfair on my part not to rate them.

Arrival: The arrival area is usually very very crowded. There are too many tuk tuk and taxi drivers standing at the enterance. At times it is annoying. But then this is the only negative part of this wonderful hotel.
Reception: Very friendly, smiling (I felt that this is the real LOS), efficient. During my last stay, there was some misunderstanding in my reservation and the Guest Services Manager, Ms Melissa provided wonderful support in resolving the problem.
Lobby: Lobby is huge, always crowded, with the sound of CASINO music always hitting the ears. Every night there is some program or the other in the lobby - cultural, musical, dance etc. its really entertaining.
CASINO: I value my hard earned money and therefore have never tried entering that area.
ROOMS: rooms are wonderful...very comfortable bed, bathroom is lavish. I got a river view room and it was really wonderful to sit in front of the window and watch the river flowing by. During your stay request for river view rooms.....you will really enjoy it!!

RESTAURANTS: There are quite a few restaurants in within the hotel premises, however I did not like the taste of food much. The service, as usual, was with smile and all of them were very courteous.

CONVENIENCE STORE: there is 24 hour convenience store on the 1st floor. They have everything, from water, eatables, beer, toileteries.

TUK TUK - I observed that if you take tuk tuk from front of the hotel, they charge more. However, if you crossover to the otherside, take a left turn and turn right on the cross road, you get choice of few restaurants and tuk tuks are reasonable.

SAFETY - This is one point which was of concern to me. I could see that any and everyone was allowed to enter the hotel, no checks, no restrictions. Even the lifts going to residence floors were accessible to ALL. I think that in interest of the safety of guests staying there, the hotel should consider tightening the security a bit.

Overall, fantastic place to stay!!

Room Tip: please ask for river facing rooms.

Naga World Hotel is one of the newer hotels in Phnom Penh. Thus, the rooms are well-decorated and complete with all modern necessities, including a full-channels LCD TV. While it's located along one of the busiest streets, there is nothing much around the hotel. More adventurous guests could try to walk to the river side (approx 15mins) or just grab a tuk-tuk/taxi outside the hotel entrance.

Families with small children may want to reconsider this hotel though. The casino is not 'hidden' from view and guests can freely walked through it.

Well, it's not for everybody. If you are looking for a hotel with a touch of local culture and hospitality, then it's not for you. It's an ala Las Vegas hotel with casino and at least 10 different restaurants catering to every tastebuds. But if you are looking for a safe bet practicalities, then stay there. It's a new modern hotel, the room was huge and the bathroom was spacious. Service was prompt and quick. We love the grand decor of the lobby, the big sofas of the Lobby Lounge and also the breakfast spread (marvelous). You will find many tuktuks (preferred mode of transport in PP) outside, do rent one for a sightseeing whole day for as little as $25. Across the hotel there is a theme park where you could try just for the experience of it (dont complain and compare to Disneyland of course). But yes, it could give you twisted image of Phnom Penh. Lobby was full of smoke and noise, Lexus and high end cars lining outside, securities was ala Man in Black, and you see ladies in skimpy outfits around the lobby...Well, it's your choice, but for us, getting a 5 stars room for $ 77++, we dont complain

I have been staying at naga for two nites which was pre-arranged by the tour agent. I find the hotel rooms is big n spacious v v nice with a business table in case we need a place to do so paperwork. This hotel is with a big open concept casino which u can walk in n out without anyone checking on u. The people there need not dress up to go in n infact i saw some locals women sitting at the poker table peeling some fruits n eating while playing. For a five star hotel standard it should try to monitor the attitude of the people. Great rooms n the location is good near a shopping mall called pencil supermarket withing walking distant around 10mins.

I have been staying at Naga world Hotel Phnoom Penh for two night on 6th & 7th November 2011. The booking was done via agoda ( 80 US$) by my friend who also stayed at Naga. In fact we have stayed in a cheap hotel near River Side, which was not good.
Check in at Naga was very smooth, given a big double room at level 8. It’s a big hotel and more than 4star standard. interiors are modern and good . Bathroom , toilet , etc. are very clean. House keeping also very good. Breakfast is wonderful with nemerous spread. There is a big casino at G level, my friend won some games. Massage inside the hotel is very expensive(78 US$), but you can try cheap massages centre nearby (4-10 US$). There is no restriction towards bring gust to the room.
Overaal it was a wonderful stay at Naga World.

Room Tip: Try to book through Tripadvisor, agoda etc. Direct booking seems to be costly than agent

great room, good breakfast considering other hotels in Phnom Penh,

The only issue that I have is that I think the people working in Naga should take more initiative.
For e.g.
1. when the lift is quite full, the hotel staff will still try to squeeze into the lift making many hotel guests uncomfortable.
2. The hotel staff will not bother to hold the lift or even let the guests to step out first.
It seems like they are the guest and we are the hotel staff.

but still.. credits to the room conditions... it is one of the best that you can get in Phnom Penh.

Room Tip: If you like the SUN to wake you up, request for those facing Mekong River. If you prefer quietness...

Stayed for 3 nights. Room and restroom are good size. Huge bed. Clean. This is one of the better hotels in this city. If you like gaming, the casino is just on the ground floor. The breakfast has great Asian varieties. Service and staff pleasantness are above average.
